So I work with this girl who's boyfriend has an older Sentra that's turbocharged who says its pushing 14-15 lbs of boost. It's a very old body style, maybe 20 years old. I was looking at youtube and it seems like it might be a b13 car but I know nothing about them. I have a stock 5.0, 2013 with an airaid intake tube, gt500 exhaust, uninstalled 91 and 93 v2 Bama tunes and MGW race spec that isn't installed yet. I'm telling this chick that her boyfriend is crazy and the thing is so old but after looking up the b13 thing I'm feeling like the motor he has could be significant. I want to put money on the race at the track.

Curious to see if anyone has an idea of what the outcome would be before I put cash down. Lol.

"I don't know what kinda of power numbers he's putting out...but would I win?"

Man c'mon, if you don't know..we don't know. He could have a 9 second car...or a 17 second car.

He could have a built motor in it....he could just have the turbos...hell, he might not even have turbos.

Just do it and come back and tell us. Bench racing DOESN'T belong in Road Kill.

I eventually will. My car is going to ford tomorrow because of a crazy episode of the clutch not disengaging causing complete lock out of all gears. Ever since my clutch is hissing on take up at the point where it begins to catch. It feels like it doesn't disengage fully so I want to take advantage of the warranty and get it looked at.

I will eventually race the guy I'm just nervous when it comes to those light turbo cars. 14 psi seems pretty beefy. I didn't mean to come in here and ask a dumb question, I was attempting to spur conversation of people's experiences with turbo cars and something like that. Again I apologize about the thread! Not my intention to post up a worthless or waste of a thread.

What happened to just racing? Are our egos so big nowadays that we won't take the chance if we think we'll lose? I'll go race a GT500 right now if I got a call to do so, knowing good and well I'm toast.

Tell him you'll race him for his woman, if you win you get to PIIHB. That ought to change his Sentra driving mind a little bit.

But seriously, just race him. If he wins, he wins. The fun of racing is not knowing what the outcome will be. Every race I've ever had that I knew I would win was fun, but the ones where you have no idea what the outcome will be always are the most exciting ones with the best stories.

14 psi seems pretty beefy

14psi from a pressumably tiny turbo on a tiny engine is far from "beefy". Most turbo 4 bangers this day and age run that if not more straight from the factory. I know my buddy's '02 WRX (not even the STi) ran 14-15 stock and that thing barely pushed 150rwhp.

Big boys run 25+ psi on those types of engines, and that's really when you have to start worrying.

14psi on a 1.6L even in a Sentra I bet is no more than a 14 second car.

Now throw that same 14psi on a modern day V8 (like the Coyote or LS engine) and you've got a monster pushing 7-800rwhp. That's beefy.

evanjp - On a closed course....In Mexico I hope right ? :dancenana:

I'll play devils advocate here and they can be blisteringly fast but that comes down to what's really going on under the hood. Think anywhere potentially from 240 wheel to (No this isn't a typo) over 600 whp - Never Underestimate the competition!

It could really come down to a drivers race though - Keep us in the loop and take some video will ya !?!

Thanks for the replies guys! Yeah I got a vague look at his car, it is VERY old and has the stock wheels on it I think. Super vintage.

I will get my go pro suction cup out for this one. Like I said, I brought my car to ford and I just dropped it off today to have some things looked at. I definitely will race him eventually and will update the thread. This guy is young, and I really don't know the size turbo or whatever else he has under the hood. The chick says he doesn't want her to tell me anything so I really don't know what all he has. I'm like you guys, I really don't give a damn what he has it's fun to just run, but I want to make it official at a drag strip. I threw out a 100 dollar bet before I knew about the 14psi and the b13 motor but the girl says he doesn't have that motor. She really doesn't know jack I assume but either way it will happen in the not too distant future. I'll link a couple YouTube vids I saw yesterday later on when I'm not fishing.

Just ****ing race. If you lose, you lose. If you know the dude well enough, you'll know what to expect. It's not hard to discern who actually has a fast car and who just talks like they do.

Without Boss manifold should be a drivers race but with it you should pull him 5 buses at least.
