For those that have done a T56 Magnum - I'm getting conflicting info

D&D makes/sells really good stuff in general. If that's what their customers are using I have faith in it :) but if you find something better for the same price or darn close I'd be interested.

True statement. Take a look at D&D's web site picture of the D93 and tell me if you think that cast or not. Don't see a fat parting line where you typically see one in the middle of the part.

Forged or billet is preferable over cast ........... we may not have a choice

Mine sheared the teeth on the input shaft and main shaft. If I remember correctly those 2 shafts together were over $500 plus a rebuild kit. Not knowing if the car was abused by previous owner or whether the trans just wasn't up to my turbo setup, I opted for the Magnum. The stock bellhousing worked just fine. I needed a shortened driveshaft. I had to massage the trans tunnel a little to fit. Nothing that was a big deal.

Well if I ever break it I'll report back. I'm usually a top candidate for breaking stuff :) lol

Ill look at my receipt tonight for the yoke I got. It was a billet piece. I had a local shop make me a custom length chromoly shaft with the yoke, new rear flange and 1350 joints for $550

Looks like I'm pulling the trigger on the Sonnax slip yoke. Talked to the tech and confirmed it will fit. They don't sell directly and pointed me to Summit so that's where to buy it from.

Malcolm, did you end up using your stock bellhousing or going with the Quicktime one? Did you have to modify the transmission crossmember or use a modular one?

I can confirm that the sonnex one works just fine. AED just did a T56 Mag swap on my buddies 04 and I ordered that yoke and it's just fine. Also reused the stock bellhousing.

Stock bell housing. Haven't put it in yet, coming up in a few weeks then will find out on cross members.

Something I never read or heard anyone mention was clearance issues with the clutch fork when going to the T56 Magnum. The main problem is having an RXT twin disk is thicker than stock. Requires you have an aftermarket shorter pivot ball. However once installing the Magnum it seems clearance is reduced even more. I think it's the webbing on the transmission. I don't have my stock transmission to compare directly though.

I cut my shorter pivot ball down to the minimal possible size. It's so tight up agains the case you can barely get the clutch fork on it because the springs behind that hold the clutch fork on barely have any space at all. Even in this configuration the clutch fork is compressed up agains the transmission and the throw out bearing is still compressed solid against the clutch fork fingers.

I was forced to grind some small reliefs into the clutch fork to get around the webbing in the transmission for clearance.

I don't have a magnum but I remember reading or seeing an install that mentioned cutting some of the webbing on the transmission to clear the clutch fork.

edit, it is in the tech article in Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords June 2014 issue. It is when you have a magnum with a twin disk clutch.

Ah cool. Yeah that's basically exactly what I have. I opted to cut the clutch fork instead of the transmission since it's cheap and easy to replace vs the transmission.
