Since the S197 section is a little quiet on here, and I enjoy being on this site, thought I would share progress as it is made.

Well, I bought an engine on here that was meant to sit on an engine stand and give me some options down the road. LOL, it didn't quite work out that way. What I did have was a block that could be used with a .020 overbore. It really made no sense cost wise to do all the machine work for a stock based motor. So, I was looking at doing a shortblock that could be used to up the anty with my car.

This is my car right now 707 HP 651 TQ:

Since I had such good luck with my CHP setup, decided to see what they had to offer. One thing I have noticed lately is guys running a stroker crankshaft over 850 HP have been having failure issues. With that in mind, wanted to stay with stock stroke. My goal is to be around that 1,000HP mark. My current engine setup is only good to around 800-850ish range. The biggest factor being I did not install tool steel wristpins and I would rather run a I beam rods instead of H beam, personnel preference that. So decided to order this:

DOMINATOR Engine Kit - Ford 4.6L (3V) Dish Top -5.0cc

CHP was sold and could not furnish the kit. They did do a fine job wasting over 3 months of my time.

The new owner doesn't have clue one about modular, buyer beware.

Just got some good news from American racing headers. They can make a 1 7/8 inch header with 3.5 inch collector. They also have a 3.5 to 3 inch X pipe.

Thinking I may have a 6 point roll bar and my Scott Rod Fabrication rear seat delete installed this winter. Have to see where a local shop comes in with a bid. My rear seat delete is anodized black.

Well, making some progress.

PNR is doing up a half moon trunk mount SC coolant tank.

Bought a set of used stock heads. They are on the way to Foxlake to be checked out and worked on, if OK. Am going with Manley stock size valves and PAC? springs (what Ron called them). Still looking at the Jessel followers, but goddamn the price on those things! The valves are going to Swaintech for coating, then to me, then to MicroBlue to have the valve stems coated, then back to FoxLake.

Still kicking around the used ARH exhaust deal I thought I had done. It turned out to not be a 1 7/8", but was a 1 3/4". 1 3/4" with 3" collector is the right match primary to collector ratio wise, but 1 7/8" with 3.5" is a better match with what I am trying to do. Talked it over with DB Performance, Danny felt I would be OK, if I went with it. I just don't like it when the deal changes...have to think on it more.

Still need to get the rotating assembly from CHP. DB Performance is shut down this coming week, so will be the new year before that is fitted and then shipped off to MicroBlue.

Still got some road to travel.

Since my BMR radiator support was modded for the turbo kit, picked up a new one today on sale.

Decided against using the Jesel followers. Will use the new FRPP intake followers and the standard exhaust followers.

Ordered this roll bar foam for anywhere I could touch worst case.

Dual Durometer SFI 45.1 Roll Bar Padding

You need SFI 45.1-rated roll bar padding to conform to the rules, but you want something softer so minor bumps don't hurt quite as much? This new two-step padding is the answer!

The inner core consists of a low-profile piece of SFI 45.1 padding to satisfy the rules of any sanctioning body that requires SFI-rated padding. The outer layer is a 1/2" thick pad of softer (but still very firm) padding for comfort. The outer layer absorbs minor bumps and low-speed impacts, but if heavier impacts occur, the force is absorbed by the inner core. The softer outer core can easily be removed and reinstalled when needed.

This padding is supplied in 36 inch long pieces. The 1 1/2" ID is flexible enough to fit bars up to 2" diameter. The low-profile padding is designed to cover just one side of the bar. Black only.

Why didn't they put the drain outlet more towards the passenger side? That way it's closer to the opening the car already has in the spare tire area.

I passed your question on. I plan on using a fitting I can attach a hose to and drain that way.

PNR Welding answer: I put it in the middle so you have a choice to where you want to angle the ball valve. You can go to either side of tank.
