How to remove these stainless side scoop inserts

These were on the car when I got it. Are they just mounted with adhesive?

Would a heat gun be sufficient?

The factory ones are held in by tabs. a screwdriver and towel to protect the body is all I used, but again mine were factory. Can you see behind the metal at all? I would bet it's being held on with adhesive, but if you're lucky they may have stuck it to the factory inserts.

That worked, thanks! And of course the idiots who worked on this car used silicone to glue them to the inserts.
