How much power will this motor hold with parts listed?

Hey guys i'm going through my options of building a motor.

My needs/wants at this time.

800WHP DD capability. I have a paxton and i'm keeping it for now at least.
Looking to do 3.33 pulley on E85 and maybe later down the road adding 50-75 shot window switched from 3 to 6K RPM.

So far i have contacted several builders, MMR and Holcomb to be exact.
Both in the same ballpark, BUT with different motors.

Here are the detailes from Holcomb build.

My only concern here is that Blake told me, the rods are used, but he will freshen them up and install new bolts and enw everything else.
He also said that rods are very strong and will do 1200WHP all day long and he checked them and they up to spec.
Blake also said rods have about 20 passes on them. (if i heard that correctly, i was outside when i was speaking with him on the phone).

Anyway, what do you guys this?

1) How much power will this hold?
2) used rods.. is that a potential issue?

thanks.

Assuming the rods came out of a good motor I don't really see an issue if he's giving a discount on them. Those are pretty stout.

I don't see why it wouldn't be able to handle 1000rwhp with ease

Yup 1000 Should be fine, But the Paxton isnt gonna cut it, It wont feel that much faster. Look at my Tq Graph and youll see the loss. I would honestly put your money into a CPR turbo kit.

I will need to ask Blake, why these rods were taken out of the motor they were in. Also will ask how much more will it be for new rods.

I like the idea that this motor comes with ported heads and upgraded valvetrain which will help the paxton make a little more power when compared to only built shortblock.

Honestly 1 thing i like about paxton is how reliable it is and i will possibly be moving to CA next year, if that happens i will keep the paxton for that CARB legality or just take the car to CPR for his turbo or get Hellion twin. I really like the look of twins. In the meantime thats why i am thinking about 50 shot in low RPM for that TQ and so i can do those cool purge effects lol.
Yes i thought about turbo's, but can't do both at the same.

One thing to keep in mind with an all out Paxton is belt slip. Adding nitrous that low might further that problem.

No you wont have an issue with 8 rib and 20% OD. Both those help belt slip issues. The Paxton you will be able to make a little under 1k if you do it right.

Looks like it will be a good build. I run a Holcomb shortblock and have been happy with it.

Now i'm wondering if i even need ported heads...

I just told him i want a reliable motor to be able to hold 1000, but really i will be on 3.33 and around 800.
He said he has a motor in progress that he can sell me. And this is the motor.

how much do ported heads really help?

You wont have any issue with running a setup like that.

As far as 800 on a novi 2200; I got there with the overdriven balancer, 8 rib, and a 3.47 pulley. On a 3.33 you won't have any issue getting there

Well once you go Ported heads, 8 Rib and OD you might as well have gone turbo.

Well not entirely true.
Cost of this longblock is comparable to the cost of 15 aluminator. So this is not 10k+ motor.

Like i said paxton works for my needs at this time at least.

I bought it new, complete kit back in 2012 for $4300 shipped. Sold the injectors that came with it for 350-400 can't remember exactly and added ID1000's for $800. Installed it myself. So my total cost installed was around 5k.
Even if i add 8 rib and OD pulley it still will be much less than a turbo.

Plus like i mentioned this set up is sufficient for my needs at least for another year and i like 0 maintenance that comes with having a paxton. And I don't have another 10k for the turbo now. Cpr kit is what 7300 and hellions 7500 i think. Plus install.

Like I said if everything works out for me, maybe next year i will be able to just drive to cpr and have him install one if his kits since im in the process of moving out of NYC in a year.

I would not buy anything from blake. I have had nothing but problems with him. If you want more info pm me. Not trying to bash I'm trying to warn ppl of making the same mistake.

Guess you can't make everyone happy. He always answered my dumb questions via text, email, or call throughout all the changes I decided to make along the way (increase bore, change rods, pistons, sleeves, etc)
