So finally decided to put a build thread for this extensive project that i originally posted before here:

http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/showthread.php?1105475-Looks-like-i-struck-gold&highlight=

This is how it was found:

now to pick up some suspension parts and bumper off a donor car:

starting to look like a car again:

(yes i know the 15x10's on the rear look hideous on a corner carver. it was all i had at the time lol)

steering and suspension on along with NRG hub, quick release, and steering wheel. just cleaning it up, prepping to drop the motor in:

Finally dropping the motor in! decided to go with a BMR tubular k member because of the extra space it offered underneath to work on the car:

Picked up some GT500 Brembos along with a door and fender off of one that crashed locally:

Lining some body panels up:

Found a good deal on some 2 piece Stoptech ST-40 calipers with slotted rotors, they were painted with the "Brembo" logo for some reason but work for our purpose and are structurally much better than the single-cast Brembo's. (Plus theyre MASSIVE)

Front bumper going on along with other stuff:

Picked up some CX racing coilovers for a steal basically, couldnt pass up on the offer. They'll be going on the car by the end of this week mostly. starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel lol:

Going to continue updating thread as we go along. Had an MT-82 donated to me for the project and had it sent off to be rebuilt, should be back by monday afternoon then its going straight into the car.

Picked up a set of 18x10 AMR wheels with Continental extreme contacts locally, got an awesome deal on them and the compound will be perfect for dedicated track duty.

throwing them on

Its got the right wheels....but still looks like the F150 4x4 sitting outside. time to fix that. Purchased the CX Racing coilovers mentioned in the previous post, 32 way adjustable dampening front and back.

Going to purchase a donor 2011-2014 5.0 at auction in the upcoming weeks and use the drivetrain as a spare set, everything else will be transferred over(brake lines, dash, little nuts and bolts, trunk, door, etc) only need the trunk lid and passenger door to complete the body... then its off to paint!!!

Did u ever find out how the car made its way to a yard?

Called Grand Am to see if they could look up the history of the car from the tech inspection sticker they put on the roll cage when it was raced. They said it was raced in the 2012 grand am season by BTE sport. Called them and the car was sold off to a local team here in South florida but couldn't get a name. Best guess is that with the introduction of the s550 chassis they just cannibalized this one and swapped everything they could over to the new one.

Where'd you get those plain silver GT500 wheels? Those actually look pretty good.

Where'd you get those AMR wheels and Continental race rubber? How much?

Where'd you get the coilovers? How much?

Cool build. Seems like you bought some stock parts only to replace them with aftermarket. lol i was wondering why you were salvaging from a regular mustang when the 302R has all different and better suspension components. Figured you would just go aftermarket with all of the suspension

Dude that is an awesome find and an awesome build!!! Jealous but excited to watch the progress!

Just curious. Are you looking into a lighter/forged wheel for the future?

silver GT500 19 inch wheels from Americanmuscle, they had them at $45 a wheel shipped on St. Patrick's day

Had a friend locally who used the wheels on his regular boss 302 for track days. got them cheap and theyre correct for the car considering its the continental challenge so it was a double win

Found the coilovers on craigslist locally, they were brand new in box and ended up getting them for $350 lol
