Well it was a very productive day in Mexico yesterday evening. Now ,while I will make this brief I was by myself with the infamous MT82.. while some of you may be talented enough to get videos while making a "spirited run"... I am not...lol
First up is the '16 SRT8 300.. I was merging from I45 to 99... anybody in or around Houston knows what's up but for the out of towners its an interstate to a loop around the city... anyways... 99 is 2-3 lanes of wide open long stretches where you almost always catch up to something interesting... upon merging a guy in a white SRT8 300 rolls up.. car looks good... dropped, wheels, has exhaust but this is all I could tell from a glance... mind you we are rolling 80-90 mph already.... he comes up gives me a little throttle... I pull down into 4th (I could grab 3rd at 85 or so but with the lock out BS I am dealing with...nah) and wait for him to go... I hear his car downshift so I lay the throttle down and hope for the best...I ended up with about 2-3 cars on him by the end of 4th gear.. but for a boat his car ran good.. we tried this a few times and I always ended up a few cars out on him... he waves me over to exit so what the hell... turns out he owns some performance shop and his car has all the bolt on's you can do with a tune... whatever... I still take the W...
Next up the Camaro... I didn't get a chance to talk to this guy but after we ran I don't think he wanted to... Same scenario but this time I am already cruising when he gets on the loop.. he promptly makes his way up in the next lane but does some BS ricer Fly by... car sounded good... cant tell you what all he had done but he at least had some type of exhaust on it... anyways I catch back up to him running about 80mph this time.... he taps his horn and holds up 3 fingers... ok... 3rd honk I get it.. he honks it off I grab 3rd and by the time I am at the top of 4th I had a Bus or two on him... it was pretty bad...
This was the 1st chance I have gotten to try the car out since the Longtubes went on and it had been retuned... guess I cant complain... other than that it would be even better not having to shift at 7200rpm still to actually get the damn thing into 4th... guess a clutch is coming soon...
And for those wondering..
Car is a '13GT 6 speed with 3.31 gears... Steeda CAI , accufab TB, Ported Boss intake , 47lb injectors , E85 tune , Longtubes and a lot of other little BS that has nothing to do with making HP... Car is still a work in progress but I cant complain with how its running at the moment I guess...
