I know I'm screwed here, but hoping for a miracle. My 02 spat out the #8 plug. The thing is this hole already had a time sert ! I'm pretty sure will need a new head. I had a thought of a possible stage two time sert? Another one that's bigger and do the same procedure again?
Anyone? Heard of this?

I think they call it a big cert or something like that for previously repaired ones that fail.

+1 they make a "big" sert. but i would look into the lock-n-stitch instead as it is a more permanent repair. good luck

Never heard of lock and stitch. Will look into it. Wonder if it would work on the application?
yes their kit is specific to the ford family of modular (triton) engines, and it is the only ford "approved" repair for this fairly common problem. (cars under ford warranty get new cylinder head.)

part of the kit is a gauge tool which will determine what version cylinder head you have. (it's best not to just look at model year of vehicle) at the time i did it, there were three versions of the kit available, so it is best to determine which one you need for your engine by using the gauge first.

i did it on my terminator a few years ago and it is a very well-engineered repair, but not as cheap as the others. they have a rental program as well.
