Imagine a Hellcat that can corner, a GT350 with 124 more horsepower, and an M4 with great steering.

definitely one of the best lookn cars made no doubt. lov the LED's up front jus makes the car pop. I did ride in a regular SS and I gotta say ur field of view is awful! can't see shit!

Auto is way better in any car these days. Auto's are so efficient and reliable these days u will see every high HP car being offered in Auto over the next few days. no one wants to shift gears anymore.

its great if 12 and beating off to sports cars shifting gears in ur head but the reality is the Auto is FASTER and way more RELIABLE! and if u change the converter their also way more FUN!

Dude, just go learn how to drive a stick. Nobody's ever going to truly respect a guy who can't or won't row his own gears in a performance car. Yeah, SOME automatics these days are quick on the shift and can transfer the power very well, but it's still just a boring automatic. A driver wants to drive, not just sit there holding onto the steering wheel like a monkey while the car sorts everything else out.

If that's the case then why do all the Hellcats have a premium over the manuals??? Hum care to answer that. Nope it is because they know ONE that the auto is the only way you can even begin to tap into what the car offers performance wise. And second fuel economy and round the town driving is much less aggravating with the way traffic has increased tenfold and lights being longer and longer.

Z06 is the same way someone thought that he could actually mimic what an Auto done numberwise he didn't even come close to the 2.96 0-60 time the closest he got was a 3.25 short throw from 1st to 2nd and that was his best, and it wasn't something you want to do all the time if you valued your clutch.

This guy was just like you where only a manual was king, but after this he said he should of gotten an auto right from the start as trade in value he would take an extra $7500 hit if he traded over an similar auto 2015 Z06 being traded in. The only advantage with a manual anymore is that you can select a gear and stay in it, everything else is in the auto's favor.

Because automatic transmissions cost more to manufacture than manuals and it's reflected in the price of the car. Also, anybody buying a Challenger/Charger aren't really interested in performance driving. They're interested in what automatics do best, just cruising around with minimal involvement or "inconvenience" for the driver. People who enjoy driving and having FUN driving aren't worried about getting the last nth of time on a dragstrip or road course. Not to mention the difference between an automatic and a manual on a road course makes pretty much zero difference. Don't believe me, watch Motor Trend's Best Driver's Car competition videos of the GT350R and the GTR. The GT350R beat the GTR by almost a full second. On a road course, that equates to several car lengths at the finish line. Yep, Godzilla was taken out by a car with less power, only 2 wheels driven, and an "antiquated" real manual transmission. Not to mention Ford's claim of the GT350R putting up virtually identical times as the 991 GT3. Most journalists opine that Porsche's PDK is the best and quickest shifting auto in the business. Yet it can't run away from a car weighing several hundred pounds more and shifting through a regular ol' manual transmission.

Gotta love the guys that cant drive, getting in an auto and thinking they accomplished something... lol!

Nothing wrong with autos but thumping your chest with "pride" at the fact that you beat a manual car, makes me giggle....

Ditto. I get a good ol' chuckle every time somebody posts up how "badly" they beat a guy who was shifting his own gears. Even a teenage girl who just learned how to drive can win races in an automatic.

Probably the same guys that wear skinny jeans and a scarf. Probably take their car in to the dealership for an oil change too!

yea I was a fan of the stick shift too wen I got my first mustang. but that novelty wears off wen ur M82 starts missing gears and turning into a total POS. so the manual M82 has been unreliable since it first came out and its still unreliable today.

at least u get a better tranny with the 350.

the dual-clutch automatic will be available within the next year I bet and many will opt for that just as they do on the Porsche 911 and every other high end sports car available on the planet.

Ford is like really late to the game here.....

While I agree modern (higher end) automatics can be faster than manual, there are still plenty of us that would give up that advantage to shift our gears manually. Also, since when did manuals become unreliable?

That's only because there are more poseurs than real driving enthusiasts buying high-end sports cars these days. Notice that the 911R was sold out before the first one even started rolling down the assembly line. The same with the Cayman GT4. Manufacturers moving toward automatics is nothing but a money game, pure and simple. They can sell more cars to more people who don't know how to drive when they equip their cars with automatics.

Every time I see a performance car that offers a manual, but the owner chose an automatic, their cool points go flying out the window and disappear like Sonic rings. LOL

LMAO dude u sound really DUMB! been driven for 40+ years. drove plenty of stick shifts like every other person on the planet has.....

Auto's are boring huh? tell that to every Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche and every F1 driver on the planet cause they are ALL paddle-shift AUTOMATICS.

so I guess Lewis Hamilton who happens to be the best F1 driver in the world mus drive like a monkey then huh? see how ignorant and plain DUMB u sound?

and not SOME Auto's in Mustangs put the power to the ground and transfer that power better its ALL Mustangs with Auto's do so again ur talking out of ur ass!

"A driver wants to drive, not just sit there holding onto the steering wheel like a monkey while the car sorts everything else out" is that the advice you wud give to all the Pro drivers out there driving Auto's?

Hmmmm.... a driver wants to drive huh? its obvious u have never driven in a fast auto before.

yea those are cars no one can afford other then collectors so not quite apples to apples is it?

and no one is buying a car of that caliber who doesn't already know how to drive a stick shift so that makes absolutely no sense.

How many pro drivers these days racing in F1 drive a stick shift? I will tell you its NONE!

It is apples to apples. You're the one who brought up high-end sports cars moving to automatics.

I'd bet you dollars to doughnuts that a good many of the people buying those cars can't drive a manual worth a damn, if at all.

Formula 1 uses automatics to reduce the driver's workload, not for speed. Years ago when Formula 1 started the move toward automatics, they did a test between the automatic transmission and a properly driven manual. The driver's time difference, IIRC, was 0.09 second over one lap. The automatic drastically reduces driver shift errors which can lose precious time. How quickly the gearbox moves from one cog to the next has very little to do with it. The only reason that's even a factor is because it doesn't upset the chassis if the driver goes for another gear mid-corner.

Boasting about your fast "auto" is like bragging to your buddies about being able to get a lap dance with a hot stripper.

Any ol' sack of shit can bust out a little cash and part take in the activities, but everyone knows is not because of your skill or "game"....

Tell that to the guys doing 5 second 1/4 mile passes. They will laugh at you.

yes auto's ARE for SPEED!

go to any drag strip or the STREET and put an Auto up against a stick car with the same mods and same weight and the Auto will be FASTER every single time!

so yes it is for speed! as it is in F1 as well. no YOU or anyone else cannot shift manually faster then a well prepped Auto can so ur wrong.

Bottom line the Auto is FASTER! if guys wanna play speed racer and drive around all night having a push-pull contest with themselves cause it makes their car FEEL faster and look COOLER then have at it! but it won't change the fact that the Auto is FASTER and more CONSISTENT!

those are FACTS no opinions.....

Imagine if the Camaro was well styled.
That's always been the case. They've had cars that trounce the Mustang offerings but their looks hold them back. The guy down the street has a white ZL1 with black rims and accents and it's sick looking. It's rare that I see a Camaro that looks good though

I want to go fast, I don't really care what happens between the engine and the wheels, as long as it does what it's supposed to.

Gotta love the guys that cant drive, getting in an auto and thinking they accomplished something... lol!

Other guy should have bought a faster car or learned to drive his car faster. Not my problem.
