I had a factory spoiler delete MG back in the day (1 of 2). I remember my window sticker saying grey because my email address based off of the car used grey. Wish I could find it.

That's what I thought, but was viewing on my phone. That's pretty interesting, as the majority of metallic colors have it listed in the description as "metallic" or "met" or such. Sometimes "clearcoat" is "cc" or "clearco". It's pretty wild how inconsistent they are. Then again, the window stickers are likely database driven, which means they are only as good as the database.

Much appreciated, sir. A pic of one was posted above, but I collect as many as possible for reference. I'll drop you a PM.

I don't, but I had to repaint my hood years ago. When I went into the paint store they had a whole loop of mineral grey color swatches. We ended up scanning the gas lid and mixed the paint from that. Here's a picture of the hood after I painted it. Pretty damn close.

Tough to get much better than that

You pretty much have it...

Dark Shadow Grey, &
Mineral Grey
Joe, on the actual window sticker the Dark Shadow Grey is Dark Shadow Grey Clearcoat. Mineral Grey (posted by Brad) is Mineral Grey Clearcoat on the window sticker. 99.999% of us refer to the colors as you did. The addition of "Clearcoat" is only important when duplicating the window sticker.

Yes, I assumed the Clearcoat part was a given. It was just the "Grey" that was in question.

As I mentioned earlier, there have been cases where "clearcoat" was actually "cc". They have other wacky abbreviations at times as well, usually dictated by the space. Another example is "articulated" which is often abbreviated "artic" (older model mustangs). And "graphite" is often "graphit" because it's literally running off the side of the window sticker.

What I'm getting at is one can never make assumptions about them, as they sometimes have no rhyme or reason how or why they are like they are. :)
