Who wants to help virtually build an 03-04 cobra motor??
I got a block and heads that I'm getting ready to build and I want some suggestions on EVERY single part. pistons, rods, rings, crankshaft, vavletrain parts, studs, oil pump, literally everything.

If you can supply brand names with part numbers and sites that I can find them...

The car has a 2.2kb on it right now and I just made 609rwhp on a completely conservative tune...

The goal here is to build my spare block and have it ready for when the one in the car pops.

I'm eventually going BIG power most likely turbo, and I want the block to be pretty much indestructible lmao.
Ideally want it to be able to hold like 1200+hp.

Experts in here give me some suggestions on parts.

E85! Lol I have no idea on parts, so I'll defer to the more knowledgeable people. Hopefully, I get some good ideas for any future plans.

At power levels that are much higher than stock, the factory Terminator iron block has cylinder wall cracking problems so add an aluminator or Teksid aluminum block that has not been bored over to your parts list. most people think that iron blocks are stronger than aluminum ones, but thats not true in the case of mod motors as the iron blocks have thinner cylinder walls than the aluminum versions. Of corse, most guys will over bore the iron blocks and weaken them even more. The main caps on iron terminator mod motor blocks are only held in by 4 bolts vs six bolts on the aluminum versions so the iron block will have main bearing issues as well.

I see what you're saying, but bob kurgan has tuned these cars and pushed them over the 1000hp mark on even factory internals. I'm definitely going to look into that...

I went with some Custom CP pistons with thicker skirts and the top ring dropped down . I cant remember the specs off hand. .200 H13 pins , SS total seal rings, Carrilo I beams , Clevite coated bearings , arp hardware though out. Arp 2000 head studs, boundary billet OP, stock forged crank,.....

Awesome!! This is the kind of reply I was looking for. And also, are you on an 03-04 cobra iron block?

The largest flaw in the 03 cobra Iron block is the 2 bolt mains. They tend to walk at high HP levels. If you want a true 1200rwhp then I would suggest going to a teksid or new wap (aka aluminator). I have an entire part list for my build but just be ready to spend a large large large sum of money. I will post my parts list when I get to my computer that it is saved on.

Edit: Off the top of my head.

Pistons - My own custom spec CP pistons .008 over
Rings- Total seal stainless with modified napier cut second ring
Wrist pins - Trend .200 wall tool steel
Bearings - All king
Crank - Eagle forged (the factory kellogg is strong as hell too good up to ~1500)
Rods - Manley Billet I beams

Timing/Cams
Cobra engineering secondary tensioner
Accufab secondary chains
new iron primary tensioners
spacers for primary tensioners
new primary chain
cloyes adjustable cam gears
cloyes billet crank gear
larger dowel
billet guides
custom cams
springs
retainers

Oiling
melling oil pump with billet gears
GT-500 windage tray
Moroso oil pan

Great! That sounds awesome man. Thank you. And yeah it's something that I plan on doing with the time so I'm not too worried about how much it's gonna cost me, just gonna take it slow and get it done right with time. That list would be great though.

As you saw mentioned above, Molnar rods. They are badass units

What is the horsepower rating for the Molnar rods? Manley rates their standard weight (680 gram) billet I beam rods "with a heaver beam for forced induction applications" at 1200+HP. Retail price for the Manley I beams is around $1500

Molnar 4.6 H beam connecting rods weigh 600 grams and go for less $700 retail. It seems to me that the Molar rods will take less abuse than the Manleys and I would have second thoughts about using a sub $700 rod on a 1000 + hp build.

You're looking at the standard Molnar rod. You need the one they call the "turbo" rod. It's 650 grams. Molnar rates the Turbo rod for 40 PSI at 9000 RPMs.
