So my wife and are are trying to pay off debts. A friend of mine is looking to upgrade cars. I have a 2012 GT premium brembo with mods in sig. My car has 46000 miles on it. His car is a 2002 GT premium with basic boltons and 102000. We thought about swapping and he pays mine off then take the equity off of the price of his car because he has the title. So what are the realistic values of these cars so we are each coming out fair. We don't really trust bluebook. Thanks for the help

easiest way to gauge value is to look at for sale ads and see what people are paying. You own more than your car is worth?

I use eBay most of the time to gauge values.

This does not sound like even a half way good idea. Esp if he is making payments on a loan that is attached to your credit report

Theirs a lot missing from the equation to be able to really narrow things down but I don't put a lot of added value in bolt on's with the exception of a supercharger.

I put his car around $4K. I just sold a really nice 02 SB Vert GT for $6.5K with only 45k miles on it. I felt fairly happy about that sell. Maybe could have got more but also could have sat on it for a while too. Thus my valuation on his car.

I put your car around the $16.5K range from what I've seen.

One thing to think about when doing a deal like this is the added maintenance the older car is going to need. That can add up pretty quickly. Me personally, I wouldn't do a deal like this with a friend. To much can go wrong and it's not worth losing a friend over no matter how close you think you are. Your best bet is to sell your car private party and then go pick up a cheaper car. If you are considering cars of that age and value it wont be hard to find something that will work for you.

P.S. - Best of luck getting debt free. That a great goal to have and it's nice seeing someone take a proactive approach, for one, to doing that.

I disagree. A similar AO C6Z to mine didn't even hit reserve on ebay (ended at $32k) and we both sold our cars on the forum for mid 30s.
