The 7.7 is prob from a good-great 60' but the 87mph still says mid or a little faster 12's. Now I've seen a lot of mid to upper 12's Machs. my 14' with tune, cai and axle back, everything else stock was 2.0 60', 89mph 8.1, 113mph 12.4. This is an auto. Temp was in the 80's. DA was 900.
So his Mach is on par with stock or mild bolt on autos which is great/fast. Now I know the M6's can get a better 60' thus better trap.
I think Machs are still awesome cars.

my response to the op's question is that the coyote would win 9 times out of 10. just too much of a power difference to overcome

I agree 100% and wouldn't claim a Mach to = a new 5.0 but my Mach with midpipe, catback, JLT, and gears averages 89mph and has done a 89.9mph. Not claiming anything, just throwing numbers. The 87mph was a result of my short shifting and the tragic drop in RPMs from 1st to 2nd in the 3650. Ok, I'm done making excuses. Lol

There are plenty of full weight Mach 1s in the mid to low 12s with slicks and stock suspension components. A drop in filter, off road midpipe and 4.10 gears and tune have put people in to the high to mid 12s depending on driver and track conditions. With bolt ons longtubes, 4.30s and a lighter front suspension set up (tubular k, coilovers etc people have achieved low 12 sec quarter miles with ease.) as far as high 11s go with the following mentioned above and 96-98 cobra intake cams undegreed have taken I think as much as 3 tenths off. In order to go much faster than that it takes extreme weight reduction with a good suspension set up and a lot of gear, talking a 4.56. It can and has been done many times just look at some of the older threads and you'll see :)

So are we discussing which car has a quicker ET with full suspension and gears versus a stock car, or how fast one actually is compared to the other now? I'm confused.

I promise if Mach 1s were faster than Coyotes, stock for stock and bolt-on for bolt-on, we'd all be driving (or at least looking for) a Mach 1. Not to mention because they can be half (if not less) than the cost of a used S197 Coyote.

Edit: I have all the love in the world for a Mach 1, I really do. Heck, I still like the NPI/PI 2Vs (but love and respect are two different things lol), but I'm just trying to be a realist here. Coyote > Mach 1 in all performance perspectives.

Mach has LT's,H pipe,cat back, 4:10's, cold air,and tune..307/318

You should be putting down more than that. I was making 300/330 with Catted X-pipe, Borla catback, JLT intake, intake spacer, 4.10 and Lund SCT tune. Add in the LT's and you should have a decent amount more than I did.

Dyno numbers don't mean anything.

What i am trying to say here is that a full bolt on geared Mach 1 can be just as quick as a coyote with an intake and/or exhaust. Now as far as bolt on for bolt on yes a similar modified coyote will edge it out. A 3.73 geared full bolt on coyote will run deep into the 11s. However in order for a Mach 1 to run that well it would take full weight reduction, suspension full bolt ons and 4.56 gears. The point is that Mach 1s are definitely not as far behind as some may think if at all despite the disadvantages the Mach has as far as cubes, compression, etc.

They why bother having a dyno section here? A dyno is a synthetic test of where you SHOULD be, just the same as any Graphics card of CPU test. It's a benchmarking tool. It helps give you a hint that something may be off.

My point is that he could have a tune issue, be running rich, ect. he should be making more power than he's saying. If the issue is the dyno reads extra low then it's rather useless for using it as a benchmark.

10yrs ago my bolt-on full weighted 98 went 12.4 on slicks n/a. With weight reduction I got it down to 11.8 at 115. Valve covers were never taken off. 320rwhp.

I posted vids on here and on youtube. Those were the fun days. Nothing broke cause it wasn't making any power. lol. Now it seems I'm always breaking something in the drive train or suspension. Gotta pay to play.

So if the mach is on a tire I can see it getting the win light. But all things equal, the coyote wins.

from a stop, I think they will be side by side. After the 60', the 13 will start to walk away and beat the mach pretty good.
Now I had a 03 Cobra. With the stock eaton (ported) it would beat my car as it sits, minus not using nitrous that they both had/have.

My Term is in the shop right now getting a VMP but this guy I met at a car show had a really nice s550 PP with tune, long tube headers, PMAS CAI and a Corsa extreme cat back. He claimed 460whp which I highly doubt. More like 420 IMO but anyways he seemed to be really confident he'd pull my pullied Cobra pretty easy. I think it would be close b/c I've also got a coyote w/ similar mods to his and I can tell you the Cobra would get it, fairly easily (especially off the line/hit) but I think his Corsa Extreme catless exhaust had him thinking he had NASCAR power to go along w that NASCAR sound. One thing I always wanted when the Cobra was pullied/tuned/CAI is to run a bolt on Coyote but I never got the chance

He definitely wasn't making 460rwhp without a Cobra Jet, but he should've been making more than 420rwhp at the same time. My '11, which was rated lower from the get-go, made close to 430rwhp with the stock intake and intake manifold with just 1-7/8" longtubes, O/R X and cat-back.

I still don't see a less than full bolt-on Coyote pulling a pullied Terminator, unless the Terminator driver is average or less and the Coyote is automatic. Now that would be a good race.
