We have all been there brotha. Years ago I had a bolt on/cam LS2 GTO I thought was pretty fast. Came across a built C5 on the bottle and after we did the pull I was thinking my car wasnt running right because he pulled on me so hard. Its always better to be on the opposite end of this scenario but it happens to us all. Honorable DEATH!!

I wonder if it had an ECS set-up on it? (A lot of the Corvette Stingray guys use East Coast Superchargers for boost.) Could of been a ProCharger as well.
Both make for some quick Vettes and some serious power/torque.

It whined like a positive displacement blower. Like the loudest Cobra I've ever heard.

Must have been a Whipple then?? I imagine it had a meth set-up as well the way it pulled away from you.

ECS and A&A are the most popular choices. I actually have an A&A kit and meth going on pretty soon. Tons of guys supercharge their Stingrays. I'd have to say, I think I've seen it more on the C7 than any previous generation. Guys get their cars and 500 miles later they are throwing on a blower. Lol,mine has 18k on it now...so I'm due.

*edit*

If it was whining, it could have been an Edelbrock, or even an LT4 (Z06) blower, a lot of guys are swapping those as well.

Ahh I see. I bet that LT4 is a cost-effective option too.

You'd think so but it's actually not. You can get the blower decently cheap but then you need to get the rest of the parts to make it work. Guys like it because it's a clean looking setup and on the base Stingray they actually make really good power. I almost went that route, but decided I wanted a centrifugal blower.

Oh okay then. Good to know. Thanks for the info.

I had a buddy with a C5 and a centri making over 700rwhp down at Moody AFB, GA. Now he's running a blown 2007 Jeep SRT-8. It's actually his SECOND blown 2007 Jeep SRT-8 lol.

Nice! Yea years ago I had a 750whp C5, that was probably almost 10 years ago now, back then that was a lot of hp. I remember racing a gsxr 1000 and reeling him in up top, he couldn't believe it, lol.

No shame in that. They're fast.

I got beat by a Procharged Stingray last year. I was still at 450 whp and he didn't beat me as bad as I expected though, I think he didn't know how to drive it. Shifting too early, etc.

Stock Mustangs aren't shit anymore. If you aren't modded, you're not beating much of anything worth mentioning these days. They are pretty quick for the money, but without FI, you're just another snack for a lot of cars out there

No kidding man. I probably won't do anything to this car at least until the warranty is up, but then rather than mod it, I'll probably just by a car that's already got the performance specs I want out of the box. But for now, this car still makes me happy and it's still a huge improvement from my last Mustang.

Between, work, marriage, beer brewing, traveling, fitness, and other projects, car modding just doesn't fit anywhere in my life right now.

I lost my ass when I sold my Mustang. Buying one already modded with a conservative tune is really not a bad plan. The ONLY thing I worry about is how the car was treated before and if the tuner was any good. Def need to ask who tuned it and ask for dynos if possible to see the set up of fuel etc.
