I think we're in the mid-80% range here at max. Its interesting how the light color seems to change, its almost like looking through heavily polarized glasses or something.

I'll be nearly smack dab in the middle of the 100% totality zone come 2024. I'll keep the glasses in the desk drawer.

I was in a 98% zone, however with the cloud coverage, none of us got to see a clear image.

The plus side was, because of the cloud coverage, we could look at the sun without the glasses.

So many salty people who weren't in the 100% zone expecting it to be darker than midnight. And I've been monitoring my Facebook to cruelly inform people that in fact, no, it won't get any darker than it already has. At least until nightfall.

probably should keep them in someplace other than a desk drawer unless you put them in some kind of hard case. they don't work well if they get scratched up LOL

you must be one of those millenial special snowflakes I keep hearing about
Nope. Just someone who has more of an imagination than someone else who likes calling other people names.
Apparently this was sooooo important to you that anyone that doesn't agree with you causes you to start calling them names. That doesn't sound very mature to me.

We were in the 67% zone, and it was pretty much business as usual. It never got darker than it gets with moderate clouds. Using the special glasses at the peak, I could see the partial sun in orange. But to the naked eye, the sun looked totally normal through the cloud cover. I'll have to wait 7 years for the full eclipse to come to CT.

You'll want to make sure you are outside when it happens. It's a very unique experience. You'll know it 100% when there is full coverage. Pictures can't capture what it really looks like and even when just the smallest peek of the sun happens you'll know that too - very distinguishable

You know if Trump wins re-election I wonder if there has ever been another US President that has had 2 solar eclipses happen during their time as president. I knew FDR didn't during his 4 terms? a good question has it ever happen before?

And no I'm not saying he has already won but if he does in 2020.

Now there would be an accomplishment no one could take away from him. Unless you read the Atlantic. Then it would be the most racist thing any modern president has done.
