i see Royal Purple has friction modifier already in it. but $20 a qt and need 3 qts.

Mobil 1 is about $12 a qt. it doesnt say if it has FM in it already..

did you add friction modifier to it?
I'm running the same, with the same type of use. I've tried it with and without the modifier added and noticed absolutely no difference, so I'd say save your money since it's already in the fluid.

RP 75W-140 + Ford Friction Modifier. For an extra $5, just put the additive in.

But be warned, FM smells like the worst thing ever and it will make your hands, garage, rags, etc stink like you've never smelled before. :)

Don't forget the Lube Locker gasket. I just changed mine with the RP 75-140 and added friction modifier. Seemed to quiet my 180,000 mile rear end down a little. Used the lube locker gasket, no leaks and will be easy to remove in the future.

yep, got the rear end kit that comes with it. basically free FM at that price. then added a 3rd qt to the order.

I like the Lube Locker as well, but watch out if you try to reuse one. Many will say that it's ok to do so, but I had a small leak the last time I tried to do that. Maybe it was just bad luck, but I won't make that mistake again.

I've never had a new one leak, but that used one had fluid weeping out from around the cover. It wasn't really even enough to drip on the garage floor, but every time I'd wipe the bottom of the housing off and go for a drive it would be wet again.

Just a heads up....I've seen a lot of guys online saying it's perfectly ok to re-use those things.

That's exactly what mine did.

It never accumulated enough to drip on my test drives... but it was always wet at the bottom.
