With all the hype and a ridiculous deal from my local dealer (Sarasota Ford), I pulled the trigger on a 18' 10spd Auto with 3.55's. The car is a 300a base car which is virtually identical to my 16' in looks but nothing like it after driving it the past few days. I do love that the base cars are no longer the wicked step child getting a cheap/crappy rear bumper.

My 16' was a 6R80 with 3.15's so a huge difference in normal and spirited driving. The 10spd auto actually brings the fun factor back to the car when driving with the paddles dropping roughly 500-800rpms per shift keeping you at a desired rpm range.

Parts have been ordered and looking forward to her conversion.

Congrats. Notice any difference in handling compared to the 16? After a month you'll be wanting tune it. Hopefully Shaun at AED has an tune for the 2018 with the 10 speed auto already.

Looking good, buddy. All you guys switching are going to motivate me to snag one up!

It was a no brainer for me with just under $8,000 off MSRP, and the boredom of my 3.15 geared 6spd.

Looks good, congrats! Sarasota Ford hooked me up in the past, cool people there!

Yep, I have been dealing with both service and sales there for almost 10yrs. I deal with the fleet guy, Steve, but the GM Ian is usually involved in my deals as well.

Can't comment on the handling yet, as this one is stock sitting with the donut 18's. The 16' was BMR equipped with big shoes at 20x9.5 and 20x11's. I already want to tune it but actually content for the time being until I put some miles on it. My 16' just ran 12.0 at 115mph last month, and I am going to say that this car "feels" like it can match that mph as is. I may take it to the track in two weeks if the weather is drastically hotter. Shaun has tuned both my Boss and 16' GT in the past few years and will be my go to again.

Shaun does have tunes for the 10spd Auto cars already

I have to say that is what got me a little more motivated knowing that this thing could be easily into the 11's with nothing more than a tune/tire.

my wife is wanting a mustang but is looking at ecoboost due to the GT sticker shock - do mind posting MSRP and sale price on this one? I glanced at performance pack cars yesterday and was only seeing like 5k off

Been waiting for someone to do that so that can give a real world between the two. Definitely a kick ass tranny! I bet it would be awesome on a Turbo car on the street but not sure at the track.

I wonder if the 6r80 would be better due to its ability to hold RPM's longer and build boost? IDN anyone else wanna comment on that? I know the fastest 6r80 went 7.8 @179 thru a 6r80. Wondering how these will do at the track compared to the 6r80. I would swap it if it was that much better tho.

My bet is the 6r is stronger in stock form.

A few guys are slipping the 10r80 trans in 7th gear at around 750-800 wheel.

Congrats! Love these cars. The 18 is a BIG step up in several ways.

I found one with the 301A package and love it!!

Thanks. I would have gone that direction but they only had one and it was Magnetic but couldn't convince myself on the color.

Enjoy yours!

Here is the car that I bought. No gimmicks or jokes, this was the sale price after applicable $3000 in rebates in my area. I took all the money and went with standard financing. I work closely with the Fleet guy, managers and also the GM. If you need a point of contact, PM me and I will put you in touch with someone. In fairness, my door sticker shows a build date of 11/17 so they have been sitting on the car for a while and flooring is costing them money per month.

Thanks for the info, I’m not sure what she piled onto the car on the ford site but it was like 46k. The major items being the auto and heated/cooled seats

Yeah that's not bad with rebates, I thought I got a good deal on my 17 auto for 31k. The one's I've seen have been like 45k, congrats.

p.s. you won't be getting bored of it with a blower on there.

Heated seats are going to be premium so that alone is going to significantly raise the price. Mine is a base 300a car with no options other than auto and 3.55's which is all I wanted.

While a blower would be nice, the gearing was still way to long on my old car.

Very nice. The 10R80 is a game changer.

Yessir and thought it was hype until I drove one.

I have the same gears in mine and 45 roll in 2nd is perfect. Same as my shelby was, for a dedicated drag NA car Maybe not.
