What does it take to pull 500RWHP out of a 2018 Mustang GT?

Oh Canada!
In the video Justin says the baseline was 437 RWHP. Does that sound about right? Only 5% drivetrain loss or is Ford sandbagging the 2018??

The '18 would be a completely different animal even if the '16 had 3.55s. Lol

There's just no denying the '18 performance.

Oh, no denying that. I feel like the stock A10 with 3.55's would torch my tuned 16' all day. From a 60 hit, it is game over with rpms dropping 1000 with each shift keeping the coyote up in the revs where it shines.

Most folks are saying the 18s are making about 490 crank.

Tons of them dyno’ing 420 or better baun stock.

And im over here with 325 to the tire with a built 4.6 with everything but cams. Shooting for numbers just a little higher with a blower than what the 18 5.0 makes with bolt ons. :(

smaller engine, 700rpm lower redline, 2.2 points less compression, terrible heads for n/a (FI makes a good band-aid)...makes sense.

making north of 400whp with a 4v 4.6 is possible, just takes time and money.

Lol this is exactly why I have a box of Gen2 Coyote swap parts coming in the mail.

Just need to decide on getting a new crate engine or save some money and get a salvage yard motor. Though it looks like most salvage yards are wanting damn close to the crate engines MSRP.

great achievement, but WAY too much money for the HP. Not only will that setup cost you $40-$50k but it will lose $20k in depreciation. I’m over here with 600 to the tire, zero car payment, and my cobra won’t lose money towards depreciation. It all depends on what’s important to you. Go get the 7 year loan and enjoy I suppose

Time to coyote swap the cobra
I love the idea of a coyote swap but does it really make sense unless you just want something different. With FI you can go extremely fast with the 4.6 it just takes money. I would just sell the terminator for a s197/s550 if thats what you want.

This and larger chin spoiler makes all the difference.

That makes a pretty big difference. Looks a lot better imo

It is alot of money for a Mustang 5.0 but its the sign of the times now, the norm if you will.

Once Ford pulls the car line, the focus will be about the only Ford product less than $40K.

It all about profit margin now.

I made the switch recently but I here you on the front end. A10, 3.55's, rear quad, and great deal swung me enough to deal with the front end. Here is a picture of both in my driveway, and definitely think the 15-17' front end is better.

A nice comparison would be the new front end vs. old front end in which both cars had lowering springs and fatter tires. Those look like aftermarket wheels on the previous model.....which looks great.

In fairness, the right is lowered with grills and Forgestars.

The 18' is getting Cervini upper and lowers (on backorder), Steeda Coilovers, and transferring the 20" Piano Black Forgestars over.

All being said, the A10 with 3.55's is a completely different animal than the 16' A6 with 3.15's.

And there is my answer, ha.

FYI, I just paid roughly 31k for my 18' so you don't have to get a loaded out car for the performance.

Hoping to have the car complete in the next two weeks, as the Cervini parts on in production. Wheels/tires/coilovers are going on this week.

Lamest post of the whole thread. Congrats!

You’re right tho... that TERMI trunk space is unmatched and totally paved the way for muscle cars of the future!
