Need advice if anyone has had experience getting their Shelby repaired. I got rear ended in traffic today and the rear end took a pretty good hit. My main concerns are the matte stripes not matching when they try to replace just the bumper and trunk ones. Maybe I'm being pessimistic and they'll replace them all so they will match. My other concern is my 40k mile no accident GT500 now having an accident on the carfax. Am I just screwed if I go to sell the car?

Thanks

Hopefully either your insurance or theirs will offer a diminished value claim.

When my dad owned his paint and body shop he (we) only worked on high end vehicles, street rods, specialty vehicles and show cars. That being said; a true professional shop will make sure the repairs are performed as good, if not better than you expect.

Never accept and take delivery of your car if you are not satisfied. Do not allow the shop and / or insurance company take advantage of you. Demand the best and expect no less.

Depending on the condition of the matte stripes, the shop may need to have the entire set of stripes replaced.

Pictures would help a lot.

Ford has a specific stipe kit, but they can be hard to find. Insist on them when its getting repaired.

Any other rear end collision or claim questions, shoot me a PM...I have some experience in this department.

Good reason for a '13-14 rear swap.
Yes it will likely show on Carfax and hurt resale, so you'll need to fight for diminished value, which would be reasonable although not as big an amount as we'd all want.
Matte stripes should be easy to match, especially if still available through Ford, but you Could also consider going to a different stripe like Super Snake style or stripeless.
Good luck on repairs.

From the first pic you posted, your trunk body gaps appear ok. decent indicator that the body structure is likely unharmed.

Panel gaps and reflected panel finish are the firs things I look at when im inspecting a car for Lexus used certification.

Good luck on getting diminished value I got hit by a city dump truck and needed a new wheel and fender. It was a pain in the ass. I had to hire a lawyer and get a report from a company showing the loss in value. With both of those it still took almost 7 months to get paid. And they technically didn’t give me diminished value they labeled it as loss of use and rental reimbursement. Even though I didn’t get a rental. I had 3,100 in damages and they cut a check for 11,750 for both the damage and the loss in value/use. Of course the lawyer took 1/3 of it.

I'd get on the phone and start trying to locate those OEM stripes ASAP. In 2012 I needed some of the rear stripes for my '07 and all had gone obsolete. Only one single dealer in the whole country had two of the ones I needed, and they were the last two available.

Thanks for all the replies and the help. I ran by the performance shop I've used and looks like those bends inside the trunk are factory just like the pictures you guys posted up. I didn't hear anything from the adjuster so I guess I'll start making calls tomorrow to get the ball rolling.

I needed the rear bumper stripes on my 2012 a few years ago... Ford folded them up and put them in an envelope! LOL! They were obviously ruined and they had to send a new set. Expensive mistake for someone.
