Have been using stock clutch cables for many years with the Fiore Quadrant and Firewall adjuster with no issues. Cable just broke for the second time in 100K miles and have the car in the shop to have the cable replaced. The shop is telling me they ordered the stock cable but that it will not work with the Fiore setup. I initially installed the Fiore items with the original stock clutch cable at ~2K miles so I don't know what the issue is. Any feedback would be appreciated.

lol there is no "cobra-specific" cable.

a stock one needs to be slightly modified in order to work with an aftermarket firewall adjuster and quadrant.

This. You need to cut off the plastic housing/sleeve.

OP if you installed the stuff originally you should know what we are talking about.

From the directions......

.....Remove the rubber grommet from the firewall-end of the cable housing. Once the grommet is removed, you will notice four plastic protrusions which keep the grommet in place (1982-93 stock cable or aftermarket cables). Cut or file these off evenly (you may find that you have to do some additional filing to make the cable housing fit into the adjuster). 1994-present OE cables have a plastic coupling unit which needs to be taken off of the firewall-end of the cable (see website for install pictures). Once removed, the remaining rubber grommet (which will be replaced with the silicone adapter sleeve) can be pulled off (be careful not to cut the cable during disassembly!)

Thanks everyone. Called Ford and confirmed we had the correct cable as there are different ones for the Mach 1 and the 3.8 V6. I found the old Fiore installation instructions explaining the cable modification and sent it to the shop performing the install. Can't wait to get the shoulder healed up so I can get back in the gym and do my own mods. :) Thanks Again for your input.
