not at my post...
Where did you find/buy the motor? I had heard from a buddy that since the 18 body in white car isn't available just yet, teams etc were stripping out GTs. Though I wonder how true that is, figured it would cheaper to gut an ecoboost car to that purpose.

I spend a lot of time in Canada, and found it when I was in Quebec

Just an update looks like I'll be either getting the AEM CD - 7 digital dash for the Holley Digital dash. They both won the can bus connector so I should be able to wire the ECU into the dash for all of my displays. This would be the speedometer tachometer and I think the oil pressure needs an extra accessories but if I can get everything on that 7 inch display that will save me the headache the wiring all of the analog gauges

I'll be following as I wanted to do the same swap a few years from now. Skip the power adders IMO. 2018s are running 11s without much effort? In a Fox body? Probably 10s with any traction. Simple, fast and reliable. Its the perfect setup

Yes this is correct. Changing the cams on an 2015+ F150 coyote to a gt profile is needed to run the gt ecu. The first and second generation coyotes in the F-150 and Mustang differ and compression ratio and cam profile. On the second gen coyotes the firing order is different between the two Motors. Also 2nd gen truck motors run density set up. Third gen Motors all has 12 to 1 compression with the dual fuel system but the firing order is different between the two. Also the F-150 continues with the speed density setup while the Mustang is mass air. I think there are one or two other minor differences and that is the bearing used in the motor other than that they're pretty much the same.

A set of Mustang GT 3rd Generation camshafts from just under $400 and I have confirmed that the intake manifolds are interchangeable between all generations. Now it wouldn't make much sense to go with the first or second generation intake manifold on the 3rd Generation motor, as my investigation leads me to believe that the 3rd generation stock intake manifold Falls in between the Boss 302 and GT350 manifold. I would say it's a bit closer see the GT350 manifold. In fact I believe the 2019 Bullitt Mustang is a third-generation coyote with the GT350 intake manifold. Again depending on the release dates of other supporting parts in particular camshafts that would dictate the final build of this motor but I am going to run the Cobra Jet intake manifold for sure

old thread but glad i found it, been looking everywhere for this sort of info, not got my engine yet for my swap, but looking at f150 2/4wd 2018, and you seem to have answered a lot of queations i had about 2018 f150 engine, am i right in thinking the cams are different to earlier cams because of the new injection system, guessing the 2018 has the extra lobe on the cam for fuel pump same as the ecoboost engines, or do they do the pump different in the N/A engines, where do i get used gt cams to use, never seem to see any on ebay, will cams, intake and tune get the f150 5.0 upto the power of the mustang, i will be going cat delete as well.

Correct. the gen 2 and gen 3 stock cams are identical in terms of lift and duration, but they are different cam profiles. right now it cost the same to just get the gen 3 stock cams from ford. cam intake header swap with tune will get you to gt level hp

you open yourself to a larger pool of tuners, thus a larger knowledge base. Go with the F150 ECU, and you are limiting yourself to only tuners willing to change the firing order if you decide to swap out the cams. In time this will mean less but at the end of the day, it will prob cost you the same (for example) as 5star tuning would charge you a premium for doing the extra work. mustang ecu would also let you run mass air and more widely embraced by the aftermarket

seems like i need to go mustang ecu, another question, have the 2018 coyotes got a mechanical fuel pump to supply the high pressure new style injectors, and if so, what does it run off, on the ecoboosts it runs off one of the cams, but if you can use the older gt cams in the 2018, i'm guessing its fitted somewhere else or hasn't got that type pump
