Your worst experience with police?

this wasn't unpleasant per say as i didn't get a ticket but i got pulled over on my way home from the local 1/4 track and still had the numbers.

this was at midnight i was just minding my own business had the cruise control at 70mph when the cop flashes his lights, i pull over cop greets me asks for my dl/insurance, cop tells me i was speeding (i wasn't), also tells me that his sergeant told him a mustang matching my cars description revved its engine near him - i did see a cop earlier with his lights flashing driving the opposite way to a different place, however i did not rev the engine or did anything stupid and the car was on the cruise control, i was just cruising, and my car isn't that loud either - i think another mustang that looks like mine but also has headers may have done this - while he's telling me this story i tell him that i have dash cam that can prove i didn't do any of these things or the speeding. he tells me to stay put and he's gonna call his sergeant to check if he's coming over to verify i was the person that did the revving. few mins pass and he comes back gives me my dl/insurance and gives me a spiel about i should not be racing on the streets - i wasn't, i was at the race track to do that - and then asks me if my headlights & foglights are aftermarket(theyre stock s550 lights). finally he says his sergeant isn't coming because he's busy and lets me go without even a warning.

i guess it was just unpleasant because of the bullshit he gave me with no real reason to stop me, but after he understood i did nothing wrong he did let me go.

It's sad how the role of police in school has changed. Instead of mentoring and building a mutual trust, they have to deal with smart mouthed, defiant booger eaters who have zero respect. On the flip side, police don't try and bridge the gap that's been created between the student and officer either.
Not nearly enough attention and resources are put toward our school system, in any capacity, except football stadiums.

What I have noticed over my decades of teaching is that parents today just want to be their kid's best friend and advocate. They no longer are the authoritarian and disciplinarian they once were. So when the kids come to school and they misbehave and I reprimand them they melt like an ice cube on a Death Valley summer day and the parent comes to their rescue. The old toughen up buttercup is a thing of the past. But I will never give up.

I used to live on a dirt road, it had been raining for days. Michigan used to have seat belts as a secondary infraction meaning that you could only cite not wearing them if you pulled the driver over for something else. I was given a warning for unreadable liscense plate from the muddy road, but ticketed for the seatbelt violation.

2007: Driving home from work in my '00 GT, I rolled up behind some drunk in an SUV (rhyme unintentional). They started throwing glass bottles up in the air to try to hit my car. I figured I'd just get their license plate, call it in, and be done with it. That didn't go so well- they slammed on their brakes and all four doors opened up. 4 large drunk dudes got out and one started running at my car holding a knife. I hit the brakes, spun around and floored it. When I thought I was far enough away, I decided to slow back down. Mistake. They came flying up behind me, rammed the back of my car, and that's when I put the pedal down and didn't let up until I got home (2 miles away, not far). I parked behind the shed so they wouldn't see the car from the road and called the police. The police showed up, asked me if I was spinning my tires. I said "Yes, to get away!" They told me I cracked up my own car, made up the story, wouldn't give me an accident report for insurance, and issued me a warning.

2006: Had the cops called on me for filming bumfights. I was not filming bumfights. A few friends and I were working on a very short video clip that we would edit to be funny. We dressed one guy up like a hobo and shoved him in a dumpster. I stuck a camera to a 2x4 and used it as a post to film the thing. Cops showed up on both sides of us, asked for ID. That's when the hobo-guy decided was a good time to literally fall out of the dumpster. A wonderful time was had by all, explaining what we were doing and drawing a small crowd at the same time. It ended with the cops laughing hysterically and telling us to get lost. They drove off and left us with a small crowd staring at us.

2016: Some dumbass rookie "gotta puff myself up" cop pulled me over for going 40 in a 45 (in my Volvo), giving me an attitude the second I rolled down the window. He claimed it was 25mph. "This is 25mph through here. 25!!." I pointed at the sign back a ways and told him to go read it. He goes "I know my town, want me to write you up for something else too?" He continued to get more and more aggressive, which made my attitude spike too. I know, I know, not the wisest of choices. "Do you have a problem with law enforcement? That was 15mph over the speed limit, I can get you for reckless driving" "No, I have a problem with illiterates. Go back and read that sign." That wasn't too smart arguing with this idiot, but whatever. He goes back to the cruiser and comes back with a different ticket with a higher number. Took the ticket, told him he should consider going back to school to learn how to read. I went back and took pictures afterwards, and sure enough I was right. I drove through this way every day to get to work. A week later, I noticed new shiny signs that read "25mph" instead of "45mph." They literally went back and changed the signs, but I had picture proof. I walked into the "courthouse" which was a 12x18 room. They had stuffed 50 people in there elbow to elbow. 60 minute slot, 50 people. They knew what they were doing. I saw ol' meathead smiling like he got his first enema, walked up and said "so you guys obviously know we can't get 50 odd people through to see the judge in 60 minutes." He smiled and said "makes you want to pay the ticket, huh?" I didn't win, never got to see the judge. Bunch of crooked cocaine addicts. Their chief was busted for cocaine use that same year.

I have had dozens of interactions with the cops, all traffic related. Not of them particularly bad. Had one or two with anger management issues but even those were handled without incident

Nah. Not really. Most people I interacted with said I was cool and professional.

I was only in for 11 years. I haven't really had any bad interactions with police outside my leo career.

Every ticket I've received I have deserved.

The only bad encounter was a cop pulling me over and accusing me of street racing when I wasn't. After hassling me for 20 minutes he told me to go home and that he better not see me out driving for the rest of the night. Douche.

None of my experiences with the police were ever good. They all hated me. Since I am old as dirt and the year I started driving in 1974 was when radar first appeared in my area police cars. I had a 1969 GTO Judge at 17 and all I ever did was race in the streets...lol. I got 21 points in my first year driving mostly radar tickets and lost my license twice in my first 3 years of driving. The cops in my town really disliked me....I was always in court....hehehe. But after 44 years of driving I still have not lost my need for speed.

That would be cool but the cops worst stories would far exceed what we have here. In all my run ins with speeding tickets back in that day I never disrespected an officer and never had one show up at my parents door. My wife's brother is a cop at the GWB in New York. His stories are very entertaining about the crazy losers that cross that bridge every day. But some of the best stories are about the jumpers and the ones who try.

When I was 19 I was wrongfully arrested and jailed for 3 days on 2 felony counts. Bail was set at $800K so I wasn't going anywhere and was looking at life imprisonment. During those 3 days I was fed 2 times, was never given an opportunity to shower, was never given a lawyer, was dragged out of my cell in the middle of the night to be interrogated, etc etc. Fun times.

I'm a jerk. My Sasquatch self would have stepped out. Mr Glock and Ms S&W would have said hello. If need be they would have spoken loudly and with force.

Looking back to when I moved to FL there was this one guy.

We turned onto a two lane back road while taking my son to school. There was a box truck full of seasonal workers in it. The cop was behind it and I behind the cop.

The truck was going about 30 on a 45. We had dashed lines after about 50ft from the turn.

I seen no traffic and signalled then proceded to pass. Well shit I see blue lights and thought he was going to pull over the box truck with the workers and the back open.

Nope, pulls me over and starts telling me it was a no pass zone.

I explained there was no sign and the lines were hashed. He got my license and I tossed my military id because I had TN tags.

He cuts me loose and says my military id saved me from being ticketed.

I told him had I seen a sign there is no way I would have passed him.

Drop son off at school and take that way back. No sign and hashed lines just up to the stop sign where we turned.

I honestly think he just got pissed because I had passed him.

Not terrible but odd.

I've ridden, and served as a chaplain and reserve. I have seen stuff that would make me lose it. Officers have great restraint. You guys have my utmost respect.

My 5 year ordeal was all court related BS. The DA has a job to do. They want to win. Once my case was closed the DA shook my hand and congratulated me on a fight well fought.

I grinned and told him, "If I had been driving under the influence we wouldn't be standing here. I would have admitted to being stupid and took what was coming. Thanks for giving me a screwed up story to use in my speeches and sermons though".

Police-no issues.
Court-moves slowly and is a chess match.
Church people you preach to-judgemental and willing to crucify me no matter the truth.

It's all good though. I have proof that I'm not perfect. I can't judge others. Life marches forward.

There were 2 times for me.

One time was pretty much my fault. I was young, about 17 years old. I went through a yellow light. I had my girlfriend and her friend in the car. I instantly got pulled over. The officer was giving me a hard time and asking tons of questions. Finally, he gave me a ticket for going through a yellow light. That was all me. That's what I deserve.
The second time, my buddy, my brother. and I were coming home from somewhere I can't remember where. This was back in my high school days. We got pulled over. My buddy was driving his car. There were 2 police officers. I think one was in training, State Police. They had us out of the car and being wicked dicks to us and wicked cocky. To this day, I still don't know why we got pulled over.
The other times,......the police were really cool and never an issue. One time I should have been either arrested or definitely written up, but the State Police let me go.

So I’m 26, in 1992 driving my 86 gt convertible. It’s about 2am I’m coming home from night skiing north of Montreal Quebec. Get pulled over for no reason on the highway cop takes my ID and when he comes back says I have a warrant, I reply no I don’t, he replies yes I do and asks how much money I have on me. I reply no I don’t and I don’t have any cash on me. He says wait here and goes back to his car. 20mins later he comes back and tells me to go.
