So based on the feedback, videos, pics, and posts i'm seeing.. it appears Myrtle Beach doesn't particularly enjoy being home to MW anymore.

Cursing laws, noise violations, reckless tickets for 4k rpm pulls.. it's all a bit "Extreme". I get the over all purpose of preventing idiots from injuring/wrecking/hurting others, but much like Bike Week, I think MB is specifically pushing to get rid of Mustang Week. Bike Week is now no more and getting moved. I think it wouldn't hurt to considering moving Mustang Week from Myrtle.

The mustang community may of worn out our welcome in MB.

Any thoughts?

I mean, where else are we going to get internet gold with Mustang owners leaving these events? If not the biggest celebration of Mustangs yearly then where?

WE MUST STAND FOR OUR VOICES TO BE HEARD AND OUR RETARDED DRIVERS TO BE SEEN OVER AND OVER AGAIN ON THE INTERNET!!!! THIS INJUSTICE MUST NOT STAND!!!!

SE Michigan. Just about all of the local cruises put on in different cities are awesome and growing by the year. LE is present, but there is quite a bit of leniency with everything that comes with car events. You have to do some pretty dumb shit for LE to come in contact with you.

Bring this shit to Michigan City!

The East and West Coast are very strict on vehicles, always have been.

Just look up H20 where cops are handing out tickets and impounding for just sneezing.

A guy with a F40 got an exhaust, ride height and third brake light ticket on his 100% stock F40 as I recall. Total fine was like $2,400 or something stupid.

I think you're right. Unfortunately, a lot of the issues we are seeing was brought on through years of insanity.

You can say what you want, but I do think the general public doesn't want it there any longer. Same reason as BBW.

It's inevitable that MW will wear out it's welcome. Whether it's this year, or another..

Personally, I think it should rotate cities. Maybe every 3rd year come back to MB. Do one in NW GA with Road Atl tied into it. Do another near Charlotte with the speedways/drag strips/race shops up there.

Or do what we did while I was at NOPI and rent the Atlanta NASCAR track. Now you have a show, camping, and a ton of events.

Myrtle is used because the city offers a lot of attractions. It is technically a multitude of car shows and events.

Now, if we could get people to behave on the street life would be good. The mischievous few hurt many.

The kid arrested for revving his car in the parking lot should not have happened. That was an extreme example of force. I'm my eyes the police decided to use a child as an example.

The burnout then ended with an arrest can be a reckless driving offense, which can land you in cuffs.

Ashley just has a loud car. I have a loud car. Most of us do.

I really want to drive up and meet many of you on Friday, but I can't afford fines for frivolous stuff that could happen just because the police are pissed off at a few irresponsible people. I'm not sure whether or not I will make it. Plus, that is a tank of gas I can use to do something else.

There's a long explanation why the event would be hard to pull off anywhere else, but I don't feel like typing it up right now. If any body tracks me down and buys me a beer then I'll lay it all out.
I haven't counted Fri out yet. I do want to meet you guys at the House of Blues.

I need a ticket Travis.

Fine by me, we need more big events like Mustang Week in the Midwest. Best I can hope for most years is the Hot Rod Power Tour swinging through the area.

This is the best idea I've read on this site today (but the night is still young). Give the city two years off for LE to cool down and for the businesses to fully grasp what an economic impact the event has on the city.

Mustang Week has always sucked. Sorry. I base this on having been to the World Ford Challenge on the late 90's , early 2000's.

For those who don't know, this was focused on drag racing. You had every class of mustang related dracing...Pro 5.0, Mod Motor, True Street, and many others. On site was also a massive car show. On site was also every mustang vendor that existed...Flowmaster, Vortech, Bassani, Ford Racing, MSD, etc. It was a thursday - sunday event. Most of the non racers headed in Thursday after work. Then it was 3 days of non stop racing, car shows and vendors. 12 hour days at the track with friends, and then back to the hotels for a beer and parking burnouts. Oh the memories of Collinsville....HAHAHAHA!

...but that isn't what Mustang Week tries to be. From my opinion, they aim it more as a family vacation that's half focused on mustangs. The other half of the days are for family time. The 20 somethings of the WFC days are now late 30's with families. Dad just can't ditch the family and drive 10 hours away for a 3 day getaway. So I get it, making it family friendly makes sense. Except the beaches of Myrtle Beach are absolute shit, and the city as a whole is a god awful tourist hellhole. Ripley's museum, putt putt golf and dinner shows? Sounds like a horrible layover place, not an actual destination.
