If you live in the Greenville area, beware of the number of dumbasses running companies around here. I have yet to deal with an insurance company, mechanic (one exception, listed below), doctor, dentist, you name it, that hasn't screwed us over either intentionally or through sheer incompetence.

Got whacked with another $225 bill today because some flunkie in billing and coding has no idea what they're doing. I swear the average IQ around here is potato.

I completely forgot about this section of SVTP lol. I’m in Greenville and starting a turbo build for my Mystichrome Vert, would you guys recommend anyone local to put the short block and go through the heads? People tell me Phillip Lynch and Gerald Dyer but i don’t know how much experience they have with mod motors. I can travel a little ways so I’m thinking of going to MV Performance or maybe Fastlane but would like to stay loca if I could

East Coast Mustangs is the ONLY Shop I trust in the entire upstate. I've been to 5 others that screwed me over royally. Mike runs ECM, very honest guy.

You are exactly right, I own the Clock on cedar lane road and trying to find a decent cook or waitress that isn’t down right stupid is like hitting the lottery lol. I forgot about ECM, I have done business with Mike plenty of times over the year. I have actually gone to mustang week with Eddie the manager multiple years when Southeastern Fox bodies was around. My brothers clutch cable in his 87 Saleen actually broke in the exact same spot 2 years in a row on the way home from mustang week and Eddie was with us to change it out on the side of the road lol. I can’t believe I forgot about them and their shop is less than 10 minutes away from me.

If I were to take a car anywhere it would be Fastlane. Those guys have done great work on every build I have seen.

What is your Clock near? My parents still live up that way, Dad runs Bailey Insurance Agency and Spartanburg Arms.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about fastlane. I gave them a call and they want me to go there to talk to the builder in person but it’s like a 4 & 1/2 hour drive for me so I told them if he could call me to talk so now I wait lol.

The restaurant is in the Berea area near the Bilo and old big lots. It used to be the old Apollo King building. If you leave downtown headed towards Lake Keowee on Hwy 183, we are about a mile before Hwy 25 on the right.

If you like fried chicken, we have the best ones in town, I guarantee it. We put KFC out of business at our old location if that says anything lol. And we also have some of the best Gyros and Greek salads as well. I personally make the tzatziki sauce for the gyros 2x a week so stop by if y’all are in town and I will take care of you guys.

I completely understand. And don't get me wrong- there are some excellent businesses in the area. But man I seem to find the long-tongue liars, midnight riders, ramblers, gamblers, and back biters.

Unfortunately I forgot about ECM and made a very costly mistake earlier this year. Mike will be getting the remainder of the project, hands down. When I got my Shelby back from them last year, it was spotless, ran fantastic, and they kept me up to date through the the entire process. Just performing good work is one thing, but keeping a customer's car clean is another entirely.

Wait, so that's your Mystichrome I see now and then?? I'll beep the horn a few times (not like a jackass, but you know.. beep beep) and wave the next time I see you.

Well you’re in for a treat then, we have really good wings. We just added garlic Parmesan to the menu and have like 6 other flavors as well.

What is the significance of the overwhelming amount of Clock restaurants in Greenville?

Let me tell you the story of my people lol.

Back in the early 50s, there was a man named John Hamberis that came over from Greece and settled in the Greenville area. He worked for the Greek government growing up in Greece and saved his money and made his way to America. He opened the first clock on Buncombe street where the old kash and Karry used to be. After seeing how good the Clock was doing bc there wasn’t a jack in the box, Wendy’s etc back then on every corner, he used the profits to open more clocks. Well he gave word back to the homeland that there was money to be made in America and a lot of people migrated to the Greenville area. Most of them were poor(my dad came to America with $8 in his pocket in 1973), so John told everyone he would buy the land, show everyone how to run the business, and pay him rent on the buildings and business. He didn’t franchise the name so any Greek person could open a Clock if they came over. After many years, families started buying there own land and opening business’s and the clocks expanded all over the Upstate along with the Pete’s and Carolina Fine Foods and other similar fast food places. John pretty much opened the door for all the Clocks to become what they are today. He passed away about 10 years ago but his wife is still alive and the only building they still own is the Clock on white horse road right before the jockey lot across from where the old PYA Monarch building used to be. She still owns the Clock name but pretty much any Greek is allowed to open a Clock unless it is too close to an existing Clock and hurts there business. Funny story, one non Greek American man opened a Clock somewhere very close to another clock without permission and hurt there business so the existing clock owner got on the phone with Johns wife and a lawyer and got the place shut down after only a few months of being open bc they were pretty much breaking the one “rule” about opening a Clock near an existing one. So that is how all the Clocks got started and have become what they are today.

Yes I’ve seen more stupid people over the years working in the restaurant business that I care to think about lol. You would think it’s easy to wrap a cheeseburger or a hot dog and it would be common sense to put napkins in a bag and ketchup if there are fries but people are just that dumb where the simplest tasks are so hard for them to grasp the concept lol. I tell them, when you go to McDonald’s and order fries, you expect to get ketchup right? But like we all know, common sense isn’t too common in these parts lol.

Yes that is my Mystichrome that was parked here every now and again before I blew the motor lol. Stop in if you ever pass by and have time. I DD a 06 white Acura TSX so if you see it stop on it you want.

I’m gonna give mike a call and hopefully I’ll have the motor and heads back within a few weeks and can start my turbo build, anyone of you guys wanna come help lol? I’ll buy the beers and cook up some fried chicken and hot wings as well.

Ask CV355. I enjoy the opportunity to help out and play with a few cars. Shoot me a PM.

I'm in the Augusta area, but I make my way to the upstate when I can. It sounds like I have another reason to visit.

That is a cool story! I had wondered myself. I'll have to share that with family. My folks live in Greenville across from the Clock on Rt25. I've eaten there a bunch of times.

You guys are welcome to swing by my place if you ever want to wrench on stuff. No lift yet- hoping next year though.

My car is at my buddies body shop that I was telling you about so I will be getting it towed back home early next week. I am installing a fore triple pump return fuel system and have never done a fuel system before so I’m gonna need some help lol. I will let you know when everything ready to be put back in bc the extra hands would help greatly.

My dad actually owned that clock for 7 years down there when he was partners with my godfather. He sold his half and opened up a Clock in Brevard, NC with his brother. They had it for 23 years but his brother passed away and the landlord wouldn’t fix the building that was 70+ years old so we left and opened up our current location. Not many people outside of family know that story and I try to tell as many people as I can about it bc it really is crazy how there’s so many Clocks opened now.

Where do you live exactly? The car is being taken to my parents house so I can use their garage but it is tiny so bolting up everything would be a PITA there. Like I was telling Revvv, I’ve never installed a fuel system so if you guys know anything about it, that would help so much. And the guy that I bought my suspension and turbo stuff from has everything already welded and pressed in so I pretty much just have to bolt that stuff up with no fabricating necessary

This is the whole setup that will be going into my car. It’s in the mail as we speak so I should have it next week sometime. The IRS is stock so I need to order the FTBR bushing kit but that’s last on the list bc I won’t be doing any drag racing until I get it all together and running right.

Finally got all the parts in. Dropped the motor off at the machine shop and they told me like 3-4 weeks before they’ll have it ready. Hopefully I can get a day off and I’ll be in touch with you guys if you wanna come up and help out this thing together.

Is anyone going to the dyno day at Pro Dyno next Saturday? Me and a buddy are probably going up around 9am or so.

Anyone know of some good Mustang (Terminator) shops in the Greenville, SC area? I want to get my coolant flushed and blower oil changed.

Reviving an old thread.. Does everyone recommend East Coast Mustangs still after 3ish years? Looking to get a clutch replaced but they really don't like answering their phone.

A bit out of the way, but I recommend Pro-Dyno for work in the Carolinas.
