After getting 30k miles out of an Exedy my father needs a new clutch. Car lasted 130k on the stock setup and exedy took us to 166.

Car has JLT intake, steeda pulley, Borla axle back. No plans for any big blowers maybe a 2013 supercharger. Car has never seen the track was a daily driver but has sat for the last few years and occasional weekend driveshaft.

Is the SPEC p trim too much for the application? I have a spec stage 2 in my 00 saleen and like it, but trying to decide between McLeod and Spec. Thank you! I’ve done some searching on the forums and seen good reviews for both. Team JDM has the Spec units at 700+ for twin disc but I don’t think we will ever see that number with 166k on the factory longblock.

Stay away from spec garbage.

Get a McLeod and be done.

Will comment.

I've seen on here recently where people have removed and tossed their McLeod "garbage".

I have a Spec SS and love it. Had a Spec in my '04 Cobra as well

As is the internet, you will always get 6 answers one way, half a dozen the other

Can totally understand - my first car i got 3 bad spec clutches in a row. Warped.

Put in McLeod and never had another issue.

But this was 2016 or so

13/14 OEM clutch or Centerforce Dyad are the best options for your application. The Dyad is the most streetable out of all the aftermarket options.

Anyone know the power capabilities of a 13/14 clutch?
At least 662 hp. The 13-14 Gt500 section may have more info. I'm at 582 rwhp, so roughly 660 crank. I drag race, and do wide open on the Autobahn with no negative impact on the clutch. Like i said, still OEM drivability.

Sounds like big power isnt a goal and doesnt sound like you ever go to the track. Id recommend going a OEM 13/14 gt500 clutch kit.
Agreed. I wasted lots of of money 'figuring it out' on clutches. Very happy with the 13/14 OEM kit.
