Hi guys

I have a problem with my 2001 Mustang Cobra. IT's a eaton swapped cobra, so I hope it's ok to post my problem here :)

Yesterday I and a friend installed new 00R brake calipers. After we installed them, we did a test drive and everything run smoothly. Then we made a short stop at another friends house and when we wanted to go home, I started the car but it stopped running after 1second. I couldnt start the car again after that. This morning I went to my friends house to did some tests, I actually thought it's a blown fuse. But I inspected every fuse and they seem to be ok. I could start the engine, after I put some kick-starter gas into the air intake. So I checked the pressure on the fuel rail and there was not pressure. I actually thought, that the fuel pump isnt working, but when I was at the trunk and my friend put the ignition on, I head something below the trunk what I my opinion should be the fuel pumps in side the tank.

There is a fuel pump cut off switch in the trunk. does the button has to be pushed down or not? It was pushed down, but I removed it to reset the button. Is there a ball or something inside? Cause when the button is released and I shake it, I head something rattle in it. Sounds like a ball or so.

About the tank. It's a 03 Cobra fuel tank with stock hat but with "2 x 255lph pumps with a pprv delete". I installed these pumps 5-6 years ago and never head a problem so far.

Anybody an idea what could cause my problem?

If you're hearing the pumps prime and theres no pressure at the rail I'm gonna guess the PPRV delete popped off or there's a hole in one of the hoses. Unfortunately that requires dropping the tank.

Damn, that's what I hopped it's not the case. Is there a way, where I can test it to be 100% that's PPRV popped off?

But how can this happen that the PPRV pops off?

Sounds like the FRPS to me. Pull the vacuum line and check for fuel.

Sometimes you can unplug the rail sensor, hold the pedal to the floor and crank to get it to fire up.

Ok, I just googled that, to get more information about a bad FRPS. So, when I smell or see fuel in the vacuum line, then the FRPS would be bad or? I also read, that a bad FRPS could cause that the oli smeels like gas.

Yes. If you smell gas in the vacuum line or in the oil, it's a bad FRPS.

They are common for going in cobras. When I was returnless, I always had a spare sensor with me in the car. They are the same for Mustangs, V6, GT's, Crown Vics ect.

Ok, thanks. So last question. When I disconnect the fuel hose connector from the fuel rail and I turn the key to the on postion, should there come some gas out of it even with a bad FRPS?

You may just get a squirt.
When I needed to empty tank. I had to run jumpers to connector on back bumper to pump and had to open fuel line before rail at the old school type white pull tab

The cobra runs again, it was indeed a popped off hose in the fuel tank. After we dropped the tank, connected the hose again the car started instant again.
