I don’t think I’ll take this one to 850rwhp like my S550 lol MT82’s aren’t a big fan of that kind of power lmao
Put a good clutch in it and it’ll hold up better than you think if you don’t beat it to hard. The problem when going with FI with the MT82 is the ratios are very short. When get into 600rwhp and up the first four gears are very high strung and makes it difficult to hook up. With 5th being the one to one ratio, the ratios are ideal for a high Revving NA set up. Backing off the rear gear can help, but the gear spacing 1-5 is tight..

Agreed, I had a Spec stage 3 in my S550 and hated it. I am going for a Mantic this time. I know right, gears are so short. I loved my Shelby's gearing, was able to run 4th out to 170 as it was 1:1. 5th will do the same with the MT82 but that shift is so awkward. I think that's why I will go with a Centrifugal Blower. I Don't want to take away from the Boss's purpose. I just want it to be a Boss on Steroids if that makes sense. so I would like to keep the 3.73 if I could. Also going to pick up and MGW X spec. These stock shifters are crap, the entire car is so tight and well balanced and the stock shifter I just a sloppy mess lol

MGW shifters are great. I’ve got the race spec which has since been trumped by a shorter throw version. I believe it’s the x spec like u mentioned

I’m likely to go centri on my boss this year. Originally thought n/a was enough...but want more now

was it reliable? I don't mind working on stuff but hate the thought of constantly tweaking shit lol

Good looking Boss. Congratulations! Classic Boss color IMO. How many miles on it?

Congratulations, nice looking Boss. The Vortech Blower works well with the car (I have the Paxton 2200, same thing). You may want to upgrade the clutch and other drivetrain parts first. I never experienced lockout issues with my trans until I put the blower on. Any weak links will show up then.

Thank you, did you have to modify much? I am hearing you have to cut a lot of stuff?

agreed on the drivetrain. Doing a Mantic clutch, MGW and DSS Carbon Fiber driveshaft for Christmas!

I don't remember everything. Off the top of my head...
The instructions online are pretty good but there are a few issues.

-Upper radiator hose - Boss or GT, that thing is a hot mess. You must piece it together and it is easy to spring a leak. You will have to cut a hose off of a plastic "Y", you will know what I mean when you see it. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN when putting the hose back on! It is easy to do and the thing is insanely expensive.

-Overflow tank - Everybody says the overflow tank is junk. I still tried the stock one. They were right, it leaked for me too. Try the one that comes with the kit if you want... If it turns out bad buy the one from JPC.

- Refilling coolant - be super extra careful that you get all the air bubbles out of the coolant system. I have no idea how long I screwed with it, just to get down the road a few miles and overheat. Better yet don't be cheap like me, take it to a shop and make them get the air out. It took a very long time to get right, a job made harder because the upper hose that I spliced together had leaks.

- Fan Shroud - The Boss radiator is larger than the GT. When you cut enough from the shroud to look like the picture in the directions just understand you still need to go two or three times that amount. Of course don't do it right off, make it look like the picture and try to fit it. It wont fit but just keep taking a little more off each time. If you start to think you are going to cut through and ruin the shroud try not to let it bother you too much... it does take a lot.

- Oil cooler - The lower radiator hose on the GT gets pulled off and put back on backwards. It is a brilliant idea and opens up enough room for the pipe from the intercooler to the throttle body to fit. The problem with the Boss is that the coolant lines to the oil cooler are on that hose too. What I ended up doing is cutting the plastic clamps off and rotating the lines about 180* or so, and clamping them with regular hose clamps.

- Bottom plastic - The plastic piece at the bottom of the car... not sure what its called. The 2011-2012 cars needed clearance cuts made because the pipes ran an inch or so too low. Supposedly this was not an issue on 2013-2014 cars. I ended up having to cut a clearance hole for my passenger side pipe anyway.

- Brake duct kit - Not sure if you are running the Laguna Seca brake duct kit. For the 2013 cars this will work (can't speak for the 2012). The driver side is not an issue. The passenger side will fit, you just need to be creative. I loosened the wiper fluid container and added a spacer, offsetting the container as far as I could. Its a tight fit but the duct will fit.

-Hose clamps - The kit comes with some nice permanent hose clamps. I used some of them and chose to use screw on clamps for others. If you choose to do the permanent clamps just do yourself a favor and mock the whole kit up without them first. If you are like me you will pull parts back off because you made mistakes or need to recut stuff several times.

There is more to cut but I do not remember any special issues. There is some cutting around the radiator seals to make room for the intercooler, probably more that I don't remember. It has been a few years since I installed it. Hope this answers your questions.
