I did a search to see what I could find about the passenger side air bag recall and didn't come up with anything other than 1 post. I received a letter from Ford a few months ago and yesterday I received notice that the parts are in and I can schedule an appointment. Wondering, anyone else go through this? If so, what is the length of time it takes for them to swap it out? I did have my driver's side replaced and it was taken care of in about 15 minutes with perfect results. My car is a 13 DIB, stripe delete, glass roof and all options car with appx 4K on the odometer.

I was notified a couple years ago regarding the drivers side airbag recall. They said they'd contact me when parts became available.
The part came in last summer and they replaced it.
To date, I've never received any notification about the Pass. side airbag.
Funny story, when the dealer replaced the drivers side airbag, the replacement airbag had the Mustang emblem on it. When i explained that it was incorrect , they accused me of putting a Cobra emblem on in place of the Mustang.
I had to fight with that dumb ass to get it right.

Sorry, DIB cars are being serviced last.

The best part of all that is that you learned real quick not to ever take your car there for any service. What a schmuck to say that to you and when you get your letter, you will happily avoid them.

I got mine in the mail and they’ve even called and texted me. Maybe I’m one of the last few hold outs?

Anyways doing some reading as I hate the idea of someone else working on my car.

Do they have to remove the dash to get to the passenger side airbag? Tell me that’s not so!

I work at a ford dealer, and when i rebuilt my wrecked car, i had to replace the passenger airbag myself.

You take the 4 screws that hold the glove compartment in, and remove the glove box. There are 2 locking tabs that hold what I believe one of the body modules onto the bottom side of the air bag module. Under (or actually above) the body module is the airbag. 2 screws hold it onto the dash support bar. Unplug the one harness to the airbag, and the airbag just pushes out the dash. Reverse the steps and you're golden! Obviously the battery will be unhooked for this as well. I dont think the air bag module needs to even be reprogrammed for the new bag either. Might take an hour to do.

Don't worry boys, they wont be able to mess something like this up!

Well that’s good news. I had seen a video on YouTube where they removed the entire dash out. I was like that is never going to happen.

I’ll have to give them a call and schedule it done this coming spring. The car is in a heated garage for the winter. Thanks for the help!

I thought they were just replacing the inflator module on the backside of the airbag.....there isn't any need to replace the entire airbag and cover for that?

The driver airbag comes with a new cover. The plastic cover is riveted in place, so it comes on the new airbags.

What does Ford do if your dash has a Carroll Shelby signature?

Sends his signature back to the airbag company to be disposed of. You might be sol if you want to keep it. I didn't look at the passenger airbag to see if the cover could be swapped.
