No, he's right. We've got an Edge sport with 22"rims. Came with pirellis and they were junk. We ended up with Michelins. Pretty pricey but worth it.

I found Michelin Premier LTX for $229 a tire/free shipping in 21" and for you, look at the General G-Max AS-05 for $195 a tire next time around.

I’d wait on the ST. I think there is kinks to work out with the new trans vs the proven 6 speed auto that sits in the SHO, fusion sport, edge sport and explorer sport.

LMS has tuned a 2019 ST, but it's putting down a lot less than LMS tune Bob has on his. Like you mentioned, they said it's because it's a new transmission and they are easing into it before going full potato.

What the heck kind of tires are you looking at? You can get a set of Pirelli Scorpion AS tires installed for less than $1000. Roll the dice on off-brand tires and be half that.

Can you PM me a link? Tire rack has some exorbitant prices on the 265's in summer only category.

Also, i assume the Scorpions are all season by the AS in the name? I was looking into more of a summer only tire since we have a second set of wheels for winter use.

If you can find anything else please PM me. Trying to get them purchased by the end of February before spring wheel swap time comes around.

Had a PM ready to send and it says I'm not allowed to PM you. Try sending me one?

Thanks for the offer. We ended up buying today and they priced it $200 above x plan pricing. We're pretty happy with the deal.

I bought 2 cars on X-Plan. Yes, it makes for a super easy transaction and no negotiation, but I've also seen people getting better deals by buying at the right time and negotiating well.

However, one of those purchases was for my 2012 Shelby, so that probably really helped get the best price anyone could (Outside of A/Z) get. Timing was right as the '13 had just come out and they were trying to clear '12 inventory, so they made it eligible which is rare for a specialty vehicle . Would have been about a $10K difference to get into an equal '13 between no X-Plan and increase in MSRP, not to mention any dealers adding ADM.

Purely hypothetical rules question:

Suppose a person comes to SVTP and asks, "Should I buy model X or model Y?" Then the crowd thoroughly debates all angles and renders a solid majority decision (although technically a split one). Is the OP bound by the forum rules to then purchase model X as recommended?

Would he face a ban and if so for how long if he purchased the Edge...Oops, I mean model Y?

I'd take the GC any day over the edge...For starters the drivetrain is in the proper longitudinal configuration, no fwd bullshit, have always felt like fwd vehicles are throw away shit boxes. I know the Edge can be equipped with AWD, but it still a transverse configuration. For the money I feel like you get a better equipped, slightly larger vehicle as well, foot longer and almost 1 ft taller, longer wheelbase. In any event you are going to be able to get pretty damn good incentives from either mfr.

160,000+ plus on our FWD Edge with no problems out of the drive train (or the rest of the car really). Also, aren't most of the Japanese cars that people love to drive past 200,000 miles FWD as well? I just have a hard time accepting a blanket statement that FWD is junk... The market would probably tend to disagree with that?

LMFAO, congrats I guess? FWD is like having sex with a condom on, you are still ****ing, but it just doesn't feel right... I really don't give a shit about fwd jap cars, never bought one, never will.

Never said you cared or that you'd buy one, or even that you should. I said that the market has plenty of FWD cars and if they were as big of pieces of junk you state, nobody would buy/make them. No different than the standpoint that anything less than a V8 is worthless (not saying that's your viewpoint either).

I've been looking at the Edge, JGC, and a some trucks for a while and, if don't get a truck, I'm definitely going with a JGC. Even the Limited trim level is very nice. I like the interior and dash a lot more than the Edge. Clean '14-'16 models with low miles can get bought for under $30k.

Well, since this is the wife's car, it was her call. She liked them both. The GC just had a blind spot for her that eliminated that vehicle in her mind. As far as the GC beating the Edge hands down, I would strongly disagree. Comparing dimensions, the Edge is smaller outside, yet has more room inside. The interior on the Edge, IMO, is a bit nicer in fit and finish and materials used.

And who really cares about what direction the drivetrain faces? I don't. It's not like I'm going hotrod this thing. It's just a nice car for her to drive.

Funny thing is, when we got married, she had a Lexus and a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Before that a BMW. After the Lexus an M3. When she got in the Edge and closed the door she said it sounded like a BMW door closing.
