This woman lives near me and I've seen her car a few times. I've laughed more than once because of the grill guard and deer whistles on the hood, but then I came across a small thumbnail article yesterday on Yahoo, clicked and was surprised!

The car has over 1 million miles on it and she averages 200,000 miles a year! I thought I drove a lot, but major props to her and I won't be laughing anymore!

Edit: Here are the pictures I took last year when I saw it.

On the original power train!?! That’s insane.

Would love to know if the trans or motor has ever been rebuilt.

I bought a 2015 Elantra in late 2014 for one of my students because I refused to help buy another POS used car to have leaking in my driveway. He only drives about 7K a year so he'll be 46 by the time it has that many miles on it.

That said, it has a rubber band for an engine, gets great gas mileage, looks good, and drives like a go kart.

I did the math too. I wonder if there are laws preventing her from delivering 10+ hours a day.
Kinda what I was thinking...they quickly went away from what she does. I’d think that car would look a helluva lot more beat up than it looked. I noticed they put their marketing license plates on it too. A part of me doesn’t buy it

The mileage and time driving per day would be even higher when you factor holidays, sick days, and shop days for maintenance.

Didn't Toyota have a recent thing with a million-mile Tundra where Toyota offered to give the owner a free brand new Tundra in exchange for Toyota being able to have the million-mile Tundra so that they could take it apart and study it? If so, Hyundai needs to step up their game with this owner.

Bunch of BS , fake advertising by Hyundai . 1M mile car would have been beat to shit and have tons of rock chips . Most of the Hyundais out there have a hard time reaching 100K miles . I bet the car had an electrical gauge multi function showing 1M miles instead of 100K

That's a ton of driving, I don't know if I buy it either though. Also cars don't have to be beat up to prove their miles. My mom's Camry is closing in on 400k miles after 21 years of ownership, I know it's far from 1 million but still. The only thing is that her seat is worn on the side. Other than that, you'd never tell. And zero problems, all just typical consumable maintenance items (brake pads etc). Quality cars and none abusive owners = lasts forever.
