Go figure as it is almost 24 years old. :D

I drove it yesterday and no numbers are showing on the great dashboard clock. It has lost the fuel cell, lost the LF anti-lock brake thing, and now the clock!

Nonetheless, it still runs as good as it did 24 years ago.

Likely a cheaper fix than the fuel cell

I replaced the leaking fuel cell with a stock tank (still have the original one). I am not fixing the clock.

I bought the 95R for the unique drivetrain and light body weight. Nothing has changed here.

I also bought an extra set of wheels, many hub assemblies, front calipers, front and rear brake pads, and other various parts when I had a wholesale Ford parts account.

Its a fun car. I went the Glenns performance route. Wanted it to look like the cell was still there

I've never meet anyone around here that knew it was a Cobra R, and they didn't know about the fuel cell.

I just found out that I have no digital pictures of the car with the fuel cell as they are all on film images. I do have this picture from the 2009 Cobra R Reunion at Chicago. I'd say my fuel cell leaked out sometime after 2010...

I am the 6th car from the left and the fastest one....:D

Gingerman in 03?

Is that when we were there? I was thinking it was a couple years later. I'm not in that photo. And, I don't recognize the background.

I see Todd for sure.

I didn't know I had a clock in the 95. Where is it? Maybe Ill go look. Mostly when I'm beating that car, I'm checking the fuel gauge.

Tom,
I say 2003.

This was when the first Cobra-R event at the old Chicago course?

I was there ~2003 and remembered staying in Bruce's RV at that time.

I wish I could get the picture with Brain G. and Mark W. delivering the weekend trophy in the NASA race??

Can anyone get me a link to a 1995 era service manual as it relates to the anti-lock system?

The fault code is in the LR but the corresponding volt/amp meter shows the same as the RF.

I tested it in a very wet parking lot and the LF will certainly skid while the other three systems work well.

I may just replace the sensors on the LF.

Another thing: The tires are old that I am using on the car.

This was a common issue for the race cars. It was almost always traced back to the ABS sensor at the problem wheel not grounding well. I would pull that wheel and remove the sensor and sand everything and make sure you are getting a good ground connection.

Tom,
I tried that and had no luck, but I may not have done a good sanding of the surfaces. It was a tight spot, and I was on my back on the ground. I think the 95R front shocks are wider at the base.

Question: Do the 1995 R's have the OMD1 or OMD2? I can't remember although Ford went to OMD2 in the 1995/1996 era?

Question2: I didn't follow up on the LF ABS problem since the test drive found the car with a noise when turning hard left and right. Steering rack?

I ordered some new 255/45/17 street tires today. The tires on it have ~3000 miles (~10% wear) on them but show a lot of dry cracks due to old age.

Q3: Do you still your 10th Anniv. Cobra 'vert? Just curious.

Here is a picture that I made today while trying to remember the mechanical specs of the car. It's the fuse box (behind the battery) with the red "ABS Test" thing.

Happy New Year!
