Took my 13 GT500 to a dyno. Noticed that with every pull the intercooler coolant in the reservoir would expand really quickly, fill the reservoir, and even leak through the cap. What could be causing this? And is there a intercooler coolant thermostat?

Several things you’ll want check but the biggest concern is a head gasket issue under boost and pressurizing the coolant system.
What did the shop say?
I’d start with pressure testing the coolant system.

Its the supercharger coolant, and not the engine coolant so I dont think it can be a head gasket issue. The guys at the shop just assumed there was too much coolant in the reservoir.
I'm pretty sure it might be the pump since I dont see any flow in the coolant reservoir even at operating temperatures, but I'm not sure if flow is usually visible from the reservoir

You can install a jumper on the I/C pump relay (not sure which one on your model year), but a quick search in this forum will likely produce the answer. You also have a flow restrictor in line with the reservoir, so you may see little to no flow through the tank.

There’s not really any visible flow on the 13-14 due to the bypass, but if you jump the relay with the engine off you can hear the pump running. If the pump is functional then you’ve probably got air in the system, need to get that out.

Have you ever opened the intercooler system to change components, like installing another heat exchanger? If the systems never been opened, it sounds like a pump issue. If you're running a stock heat exchanger did the dyno operator put a fan on the heat exhanger? If not, I can see that the coolant cycling through the heat exchanger didn't have a means to transfer heat from any of the heated coolant reaching the heat exchanger.

Checked the pump and its good, but when I tested it I could actually see the coolant flowing through the reservoir. I believe the fuse must be bad since I couldnt see the coolant flowing before even when the car was hot. Do you know if the coolant is supposed to be flowing constantly or only when the car is up to a certain temperature?

Depends on your tune. I don't recall IAT2 that triggers the pump in a stock tune, but my tuner adjusted mine to run the pump (and VMP dual-fans) when IAT2 is above 60 degrees, so it's on most of the time.

It's coolant pump setting is around 100* in the stock tune. Most tuners set it a lot lower, so it essentially runs all the time.

There was a detailed thread on here showing a wiring issue tracking back to the fuse box. Meaning the pump was good but it was wiring issue.
Anyone else remember who started that one or where he can read up on it?
Seems like the issue, good luck

When I put a wire on the relay the pump started right up. I thought the issue would just be the relay. I'll test it out once I have time

Could be a bad relay, but check the pump once the engine is warmed up to operating temperature. I don't think the pump would energize if you had the wiring issue Bimini brought up.
