Procharger D1SC, 16 Boost but only 630 RWHP..!!

Hi great team,
Good day.
I've a problem with digesting this,
Mustang 2014 GT Performance Package with front Brembo Calibers.
Already modified the following:
- Changed the engine to Ford Racing/Performance Aluminator 9.5:1 compression ratio
- Ford Performance BOSS 302 Intake Manifold
- Fuel System
- Procharge D1SC Stage 02 with Racing BOV
- ID1000 Injectors
- Meth Snowperformance Stage03 (but not working, disconnected)
- Mishmito Radiator
- BBK Long Headers
- Alum Dirveshaft
- McLeod Clutch Kit RXT
- Manual Gearbox (factory) but with Stage02 Internals.
- Premium gas station with Boostane
- Lund Tune
- Many things in the suspension system, front and rear.

My question is, when I ran it on Dyno, this is what we've got,
RPM = 7144
Boost PSI = 16.883
RWTQ = 554.6
RWHP = 633.7
(attached screenshot from dyno result)
Is it normal to have this RWHP/RWTQ on this high boost, should we get more especially with this boost?

What rpm is the Procharger spinning at? What size pulley?

This is a good question, becz I just bought the car, so I don't the answer of this question.
Second, I believe to get the size of the pulley, I should get some tools and get it of from the head unit.
And for the Spinning RPM, how can I get this info, please?

According the test we've made, no boost leaking.
After few researches, I've found that this is very common with low-compression engines such as that one installed (Aluminator 9.5), and it requires more boost to get RWHP/RTQ, like 25 PSI or more to see 800 RWHP.

Someone smarter than me will have to answer this for you. All I know is a supercharger has efficiency maps like a turbo and if you are overspinning it [rpm] your just producing heat which is bad...

What fuel are you running? How much timing are you running? What type of dyno? Was the car tuned in Saudi Arabia, if so whats the weather like out there?

I would say definitely the compression. You could have a conservative tune or a greedy dyno also. With the aluminator they say go 11:1 unless you're running 20+ psi of boost

the blower pulley should have a number stamped in it visible from the front- and as mention above what kinda of timing were you seeing?

You just went from 11.1 to 9.5 compression. That will be a pretty huge drop. My cousin made 720rwhp on his 2017 with Novi 2200 at 8psi through a stick. My stock motor 04 Mach 1, which comes with 10.1:1 compression, through an auto made 508rwhp with a Vortech S trim at 11.6psi. That's about 535rwhp stick equivalent.

There is a lot of factors to consider when running a car on the dyno.

What kind of dyno?
What gear was it dynoed in?
What correction factor was used?
What IAT's are you seeing?
Are you running cats?

My car on a dynojet using SAE correction made 825whp with a d1sc on 16psi. I was using e85, 11:1 compression, dynoed in 4th, and running 275/60 drag radials on the dyno.

I think everyone here has already asked the right questions, but I'd like to add one thing to this. I just got done getting my GT dyno tuned with a procharger stage II D1SC kit w/ 4.75" pulley. Everything was going well until the last pull and my belt started to slip. The dyno pull with the belt slipping looked similar to your pull sheet. You could see the boost bouncing between 9lbs, 7lbs and 5lbs all the way to redline. All I could do was cringe, lol. Ordered new belt from Amazon, will be here tomorrow. Best of luck with your build!

That’s a shitload, that same car on 11.1 will make closer 700 on 16 almost 17 lbs of boost.

Thatdudeinblue’s Car made mid / upper 600s to the wheel on 93 octane with a P1SC and full exhaust.

Put her on corn and turn the wick up, that’s getting on up there for boost level with 93 octane anyway.

Did the original motor blow up?

Hi all,
most of you pointing to very important things, but as per the last test, there were no boost leaking at all, pulley and belt were in place and tied very well.
So, we have a root cause right now, which is the low-compression (i've no idea about the original engine, as I bought the car with this engine),
Now the compression is 9.5, which after hundreds of searches, we have them partitioned to two islands,
1- one of them saying having high-compression like the 11.x supercharged is very safe and medium-durability (engine-lifetime) as long as between 700-800 RWHP, and using race-fuel is a must (which making the car is only for the track not street use in daily-basis usage or even weekends events)
2- the other side saying that going with Supercharged engines, it's the best-practice to go with low-compression aka 9.5 and add high boost on it. by doing so, low-compression gives the benefits of, long durability (lifetime), no need for race fuel as pump/gas station is safe to be used up to having 700 RWHP on street usages (daily-basis) and if Meth kit is used, this would be very generous to the engine. The only drawback here that to get 800-900 RWHP, you need very high boost like +25 PSI.
So, I've two questions here,
1- If I asked your opinion about each of above, what would you say?
2- The most important now is, I've the engine semi-new, only 10K miles on it, so, what do you recommend to do to get that higher HP like 850 to 900 RWHP ?
Side notes,
1- I have no idea about the size of the pulley installed right now, and am out of the country so I can't get the size label on the pulley it self, but in any way, I will order the smallest pulley which is 3.40 along with 12-rib built.
2- I have no idea about the current impeller RPM, but D1SC max supported RPM is 62,000, so we will have a look on the tune and see how it sat, then we will get it to the max.
3- I have no idea about the overall tune, but as per the tip given by the previous owner, which was tuned on the maximum safe-levels (I would say conservative tune), so, I have some local tuners who are experts as well so they can have a look and advise how can we get more out of this.

With the lower compression, you’ll need to throw a lot more boost at the car to hit your target power numbers. Then once you start hitting higher horsepower numbers with higher boost, you’ll have to start using better fuel.

Actually TDIB's car made lower 600's (632 rwhp) with stainless works headers, stock over axle pipes and roush axle backs. See video link below


But to the OP I would agree that the drop in compression is what is hurting your numbers. I'm still on the stock motor and made 740 rwhp with full exhaust (kooks headers & x-pipe, lethal over axle pipes, and corsa sport axle back) and running E85 with a 4.5" pulley (12-13 PSI) with the D1SC. before I went E85 if I remember correctly I was at around 670-680 rwhp on 93. To get to the power you want with your current motor you will definitely need to up the boost. You may want to look into getting your D1SC upgraded to the D1X and get the race intercooler since you will be spinning the blower a lot faster with a smaller pulley.

According to Procharger website, D1SC is capable to reach 950HP along with 62000 RPM for the Impeller, so, still didn't got why you mentioned the upgrade?
I would upgrade the pulley to 3.4" with my current D1SC head unit and spin the impeller to the max..without the upgrade..I might get boost like 20-22 PSI, Plus activating the Methanol Kit, or go with race Fuel.. all of this without upgrade..
Right..?

lolol sorry I mis-quoted power, by 18hp...

I should know, since I was the one who sold the tuning on TDB's car...I was at Injected at the time. Sold him all the work on his car. :) McLeod clutch, headers, and the custom tuning. Just too many cars to keep up with specifics on each individual one

And the D-1 to D-1X conversion is worth 20-30hp, per Procharger.

Procharger are liars that's why. They overstate their small blower line by a ton. You don't have to upgrade, but you won't see 20psi. Maxing the blower (about 18psi) on E85 and if you stuck with the 11:1 compression then you might get close to 900rwhp. I'm guessing you won't break 800.
