That sucks. When you replaced the intermediate shaft did you replace the 13 bolts that attach the front pump to trans case?. Part # 6L2Z-7N134-BA.

6R80 service manual says to replaces those 13 bolts(6L2Z-7N134-BA) every time you open it up.

Or it could be a front pump seal. 6L2Z-7A248-AA.
I had a shop do the work so idk if they did or not. Thanks for the part #'s I'll replace them when I pull the trans.

Any know what good shop that doing these swap ?

If a shop is doing all the work. Your probably looking at double what Soap quoted. 95% of the time that shop is outsourcing the work.

Your better off doing all the leg work yourself. And having a shop just do the install.

Get a used 6r80, 300-500$. Then get power by the hour 1000hp kit-1000$ billet intermediate shaft and raybestos GPZ clutches/friction plates.
A good dedicated trans shop should only charge 500$ or so, call around.

So now you have 2k into the 6r80. and it should be good till around 1200rwhp.

So which driveshaft is needed for the 2003-04 cobra terminator IRS? I CANNOT FIND A SOLID ANSWER ON THIS?
Go to a local, reputable DS shop and have one made. They'll need what yokes you want, what material you want, and they'll give you some measurements they'll need. I had one built for my lightning when i broke the stock shaft. It was about the same cost as a new oem one, without the wait.

thanks for replying yea, I have all my parts so far just missing the driveshaft, any of you using the lokar shifter?

I tried but the way the shifter cable connects in the rear of the shifter it will take some fab, more than I wanted to do. I went with the stock shifter removed the top plastic piece that shows what gear you are in and than used the leather boot to hide it.

—I posted this in the other 6R80 swap post but figured I’d put it here too—

Hello everybody,
So me and my friend at work are going to be working on an external gear display for the Quick 6 controller. The consensus is that it’ll be easiest to tap into the signal for up and down shifts coming from either a button, like the one from power by the hour, or paddle shifters. I don’t feel comfortable opening up my controller and soldering and messing around in there so it will be an non intrusive design. If there’s some interest let me know. I will talk to him and if we can get it work well I will sell some and make like 20-30 of them.
If this works well we may try to make a more comprehensive display coming from the USB port that can display multiple parameters like gear, temperature, voltage and whatever else the controller outputs but that’ll be a long time away as it’s just a little side project
