So, it was never going to be a project car and now it is and here is why.

bought a procharged (D1SC stage II) mach1 to hold me over till I had the cash to get into a 2015+GT. Fast forward 8 months the tranny took a poop, fast forward 2 months new built TR-3650 2011 spec + Mcleod clutch and flywheel installed (4k$). Current debachel is that the car has bad idler pulley, one of the ones procharger provides, I had to replace the diaphragm in the surge valve, the car stalls a LOT (maybe because of excess drag due to the bad pulley) or a bad IAC. I also have to now check the whole supercharger system to make sure it was installed right as it looks like fitment might have been an issue and shortcuts may have been taken. I am going to take apart and clean the whole maf section, although I keep hearing its prob best to just nuke it and go with a straight through MAF. I need gauges (fuel, boost, A/F) and since i'm going to drive her all winter as my commute to work is not like 3 miles.

So bottom line now is im upside down 4k in the car so the plan to move to a newer GT is done and i'm going to build this car a bit so i can enjoy it more and maybe recoup some of the cash i lost.

I live in an apartment so working on the car during the winter is a nightmare so if anyone is in my neck of the woods near King of Prussia PA, and might want to lend a hand or garage :) Id love to make a few new car friends around here.

Suggestions for the following upgrades are welcome as I have not build any of my previous 3 new edge mustangs past your basic bolt ons.

1. Fuel pressure sending unit
2. MAF Setup for procharged system
3. Any of the gauges i mentioned I needed
4. options for 18" or 19" rims, I really like The 5 spoke SVE rims but they are not offered in 19"
5. Tuner options, i'm thinking of going with the SCT X4 but I kind of want analog input options
6. I was thinking of going with a roush front bumper for a larger air intake area for the intercooler
7. Possible roush side skirts to go along with either a custom side exit exhaust or a roush exhaust
8. ideas for front and side splitters, if i go with a roush front end is it really needed? stock mach and GT front ends tilt up, I like the more square flush with the ground look, thus I have a chin spoiler on it now.

Thanks!

Good luck with your build.
Gauges I’d want is A/F ratio, and boost.
You can use the Roush bumper, I’m going with the 99/01 Cobra bumper. Another common option is the Terminator front bumper.
You can use the Roush side skirts. If you don’t like the Roush exhaust you can have a custom made set up for you liking. I’m not a fan of side exhaust on a New Edge except the 00R, so I not really the person to ask in this situation.

Pick your poison.

@Recon hey i'll take the good and the bad...some people may tell me to steer clear of certain mods because of price and or just not a good idea. So i appreciate any and all input, as i realize some people will for sure have more wrench time on the mach than I. I really wanted to keep it as mach 1 as I can so pretty much the only thing I don't want to change is the single black stripe and the shaker hood scoop. I was thinking the roush front end as it looks like it has a bigger opening for air right at the same height as the procharger intercooler.

I also plan on keep thing as a daily driver so I have to sort out all the small things that are giving me issues at the moment hopefully they are small because I know these cars will drive just fine in the winter as i had a 02 GT and a 01 Cobra all bolt ons tuned, and they ran decent in the winter with some snow tires and calm driving.

I was really hoping to get some input on the procharger setup for this car from someone who has one and may have gone through similar problems so I don't have to do a full inspection of all the sensors and vacuum points.

Some good news, I managed to rip out my whole procharger system check it, and reinstall with the new ATI idler pulley. I have no idea how in the fudgesicles they do that but it was a hilariously hard task to get that thing in with the blower installed.
Fixed my Mafia wire harness, the car still idles shitty at start sometimes, but I'm still getting random stalling out so I have to eyeball the IAC make sure its OHMing out correctly. Amazingly enough i've never installed a kit so the fact that I was able to just install it ONE time and fire it up and it was good to go.

update, i bought a cheapo 30$ boost/vac gauge, and im getting about 20 inhg vac, and under boost only 4psi where I should be getting around 8ish psi. So sounds like a vacuum leak but damned if I can find it.

You may have found the possible leak by now..but there is rubber hose on the passenger side near the ac accumulator by the firewall. It goes into the fender area behind the strut tower. It feeds into the purge valve or whatever behind the splash guard that is in the fender area. It is just a 3/8 ID hose with plastic fixtures that can be reused.

There is also an evap purge line with valve, that is attached in the same place..behind the strut tower on the same (passenger) side.

It will be cracked, dusty and rubber will rub off on your hands...

Those hoses are the usual suspects..

I’d look into a slot style maf and relocate it up into the engine bay before the elbow to the TB and get it re-tuned. The rough issues may well be une related. I’d throw in fresh plugs before hitting the dyno

Only 4psi - I’d double check that valve you rebuilt, out a fresh belt on and new tensioner too (amazon prices ftw). If you buy a new tensioner you might have to hack off the piece in the back that goes up past the pulley, it’ll hit the bracket if it’s not an updated bracket

@ds2003mach1 yeah i'm going to pick up the car tomorrow, and check the MAF signal out while the car runs to verify that its dead. If its showing varying voltage then my diablo sport mafia is bad, and I would really love to go with a slot style maf and relocate but i have to save up some cash for that as i just spent 4300 on the trans, clutch, flywheel.

hopefully the MAF is actually just dead and i can just replace it for like 60$ wait till the summer comes around and do the slot style maf, relocate, get a tuner, and have the car retuned...I want to have someone else tune the car since I have no access to the tune that's on there now so I have no clue as to what the setup is.
