Ummm people actually use this garbage?

Out of curiosity I ran my cars and a few others through their trade in / buy estimator.

Essentially, take a typical trade in offer, cut it I half.

$3,000 for my rust free '05 Tacoma V6 4x4... Surrrrh

They offered me $9500 on my Gen. Private market rate is around $11,5 but the market is slow for gen coupes (little demand). CarMax offered the same. Its close, if I was in a pinch I could see dumping it off to one of them. My buddy used another service (givemethevin?) on a few of his and they were giving him private party sell rates.

The Cobra. I tried using multiple Zips all over the country and same "market adjustment".

I lose respect for any man driving a car with a carvana plate. "did you pick it up from one of those vending machines with the giant token?"

Maybe they value "newer" cars like Carmax does?

For the hell of it I've run cars/trucks that are under 4-5 years old and their trade in offers were higher than other online instant offers.

These services are for lazy people who would rather sell quick for $3-$5k less than take a few hours to sell the car themselves. Same goes for trading in a vehicle. You will always take a financial beating.

The tax break we get in Tx puts a little lube on the dick before insertion though

Haha on the lube easing the pain. Tax break on a trade-in? I guess that helps a little. But you’re still getting poked up the butt. If you’re trading in a newer vehicle with significant market value chances are you’re still taking a beating on the trade compared to selling outright.

IMO. Again IMO the time i saved dealing with tire kickers who couldn’t afford to pay for the truck to begin with and how much i was afforded plus the tax break was worth it to me. Everyone is different and had a different opinion that is my experience.

Everything I have sold is gone in a couple days. I hear ya on it being a bit of a pain to sell outright but the $3-4K I consistently save is worth it to me.

It depends on the area and at the time I didn’t have access to all the stuff we have now. We put it in front of the house and waited. I dont go through cars like i used to so i just deal with the dealer.

I hear ya Comp - I always put a comment at the end of the ad....cash only - no payments - no joyrides. At least that will weed out half of the morons. I just tell myself the aggravation is worth the payoff.

I didn’t get one offer for weeks other than “ can I make payments “ on my Camaro.

Was insane

Dude camaros attract the trailer park payment crowd and that is why mine will be traded in and not sold to an individual. Screw that noise.

@PaxtonShelby i used to have my brother working at a dealer and knew the salesman real well. So long story short: Ive made more off a couple trade ins than i could have selling them. My mustang traded in for what they sold it to me for and the truck i got after the mustang traded in for a thousand less than they sold it me for.
