So I have been DDing my HC Charger for close to 3 years. I was WFH while in FL so really was not a big deal. I've since moved to TX and a smaller piece of WFH. The roads here are not the most friendly to low-profile tires; plus the seasons are erratic with even rain on the roads being similar to ice.

Budget around $25K. Want a 4X4 as I travel into southern MI and other snowy areas during the fall/winter. Must have seating for 4. And I am 6' 4" so front legroom is a must.

Was thinking a 2011-2014 Tahoe/Yukon but hear some people say AFM is unpredictable.

A Crew-Cab pickup is another, leaning to Tundra or a F-150 with a 5.0. Don't need the truck bed but they fit my checklist.

Not sure what else might fit the bill, at least for being tall. Not a fan of Dodge trucks...so excluding them.

WTH is WFH? what part of texas do you live in? I have lived here since 1998 and your description of the roads is off the mark for a lot of Texas. my 04 cobra is VERY low and I have scraped the road once. only place I have issues is in parking lots where I have to take speed bumps at an angle and go slow.

WFH - Work From Home.

San Antonio and occasionally into Houston. I am constantly scraping in SA as many inclines in/out of places are steep. Roads are trash here, especially downtown. Only worse I've been through is Detroit.

Hmmm... honestly for just a daily with great off road and reliability its really hard to recommend against a Toyota Sequoia or Tundra if you want a truck. The F-150, Silverado and Ram all offer more capable performance. The Toyota is, IMO damn bullet proof. MAYBE water pump or radiator, but those should be easy to spot during regular servicing.

The GX 470 is a nice option if you can find a low mile and clean example though they are getting older. I recommend them over the GX 460 only because the 4.7 is easier to service and its a simpler design.

The Toyota 4.6 and 5.7 are simpler engines to work on than their Lexus 4.6 and 5.7 counterparts if you ask me. ***Edit*** Forgot to add that I think its because of the extra room in the Sequoia/2nd gen Tundra engine bays.

I take back what I said earlier LOL San Antonio roads can suck bad. I have seen several places worse but they are not designed with muscle cars in mind

Should be able to get into a 2011+ used f150 Lariat or better without a crazy amount of miles. Pretty nice rides.

For 25k your gonna get a 2013 or older tundra. They hold their value which is good and bad. Good for people that bought them new. Bad for someone thinking ,I’ll buy used and save a bunch of money. That’s just not the case with the tundra.

I hadn't thought of the Lexus but will check it out.

I had forgotten to mention the Sequoia. Only issue is there are so few used around here and most are 2WD. But for sure would consider one.

The recall announced recently on the year range I'm after has made reconsider the F-150. Have to read the info more to see if just smoke.

True, I am learning this since starting to search. I have found 2 2014's with under 90,000 miles in my price. About 28-30K and availability on Tundra's opens nicely so might save a bit more.

Ha, I told myself the same. I had a truck when I was stationed in Killeen.

I'm 605 and drive my wife's 2017 Grand Cherokee all the time. It has a ton of legroom. I've had a lot of trucks, and find full size trucks to be a PITA to park in urban areas. You could probably get a nicely optioned Grand Cherokee Altitude that's a couple of years old with your budget. I have a Hellcat as well and love the Uconnect system. My Explorer is a good vehicle, but I think the Ford Sync system is way behind Uconnect.

What’s the thoughts on newer Expedition’s, 16+?

I am seeing them in my range too. I remember the older ones were considered full sized. I’m just unsure with them since the prices seem almost too low.

Prices on the older generation Expeditions and Navigators have dropped since the new generation launched in 2018.

theres nothing wrong with 2017 and older Expeditions, its just that the 2018+ is really that much better. The only downside to the 2018 is that there is only 1 engine option at the moment and thats the 3.5 Ecoboost. Its a great engine, but Ford would be smart to eventually offer the Coyote in it.

Arguably the best truck I've ever owned.

This coyote straight up hauls balls with the 10 speed.

With that said, I recommend any 11+ 5.0 F150 Screw.
