Hood prop rod hold down is circled. Right where it is on the GT350. Looks like they took the ugly thing off for this display. Can’t believe the halo mustang still has a damn prop rod.

I have thought the same. Don’t think the green will age as well and it’ll definitely be a rare color, probably Shelby specific and one year only?
I loved your red 350, and that had some orange in it?
Orange and CF Track pack will be money and should age really well, maybe like CO Cobras.

I really hope so. Single big strut is a little better than the prop rod, but for Christ sake, the F150 has had hood struts for like 15 years. It wouldn’t have been very difficult for Ford to look at all the Mustangs with redline and other struts and say, “yeah, we can start making that stock”

Thanks man, I saw a silver 03 cobra on the cover of an MM&FF magazine back in 03/4 about street racing and ended up doing the same.
Crazy what pics can do to a wallet haha. I won’t get started on how much money I’ve thrown at not exactly deserving women just because they had a cute profile pic haha... setup a $50-100 dinner date to have buyers remorse more often than not.
Good news is I can honestly say an 03 cobra is a pretty good investment as far as cars go. Most lose money, cobras have stayed pretty flat around $15-25k for the last 5 years.

Hey Tob, looks like you took a screen grab from the T&C video that came out yesterday when they did a walkaround of the Orange GT500 at the Alabama auto show.
Here's the vid I don't think it's been posted. Cool thing is this guy actually showed on video opening the hood and a decent look at the interior (other than the reveal vids from Ford edited in there with the new content).

Yup, I spent some time culling shots and then editing them as best I could. I'm not so sure Ford Corporate would have allowed the hood to have been opened there but props to T&C for getting it done. That said, I was screaming at my monitor as he missed some details that he had a golden opportunity to capture.
The rain tray has yet to be shown in its entirety let alone portions or it. This was the best I could do from the video. Looks like at least a dozen fasteners holding it in place. My guess would be powder baked aluminum. It looks like it would really restrict airflow in comparison to it not being there at all.
While we've seen the engine in production dress I wanted to comment on the blank plate atop the blower case. Most are aware of the early prototypes showing a cast in snake which got ditched for the plate in its place. And the new snake looks like a sticker atop a plate.
Weak sauce in my book. I'm in George's ear about an anodized plate with a deep laser engraved snake instead. He may make the trip with me to pick the car up from Nick and drive it back to NY. I'll have to bring some tools with me as I'm dying to see the attachment method. I'm also bugging George about a custom, weighted shift selector dial but we've both agreed to see how well Ford did with it. If it feels way too light then the door definitely opens up...
Ford Racing completely missed the boat with the GT350 and offered absolutely nothing of substance. We can argue the why forever but the bottom line is it just didn't get done. It'll be very interesting to see if they are still asleep at the wheel or have actually been doing any homework. Golden opportunity to have at the very least some OEM looking oil separators. When the Coyote motor was released they had all kinds of goodies and the list continues to grow. There's no excuse for not having anything ready to go here and I'm not talking about stripe kits or lug nuts.

Here is a picture of the shifter knob in a 2017 Ford GT, at least the one in the 2020 is chromed. I do like the Ford GT knob, it looks like it has a more useful shape.

Could’ve definitely put the electronic parking brake ANYWHERE else.
Something tells me the aftermarket (hopefully including MGW) will have a more interesting knob, but it’s the last concern I’ll have after ripping around in this beast. Hopefully we start getting some hard data soon.

My cobra has spent most all of it's miles as a track car doing 20-30 minute heats sometimes longer. After the head cooling mod, larger exchanger and radiator there was never any heat soak issues
Articles I've read makes it seem like it's not shelby specific.. albeit the wording n below link isn't black and white so you could be right..

Sadly, that doesnt look to be the hue Ford actually went with. They instead chose booger green. Clashes perfectly with white interior accents.

With the rain tray installed, it looks like the hood vent is for looks only and is not functional. If that is the case, the hood pins would be required with the rain tray installed do to higher pressure in the engine bay. We won't know for sure until someone is allowed to take detailed photos.
I cant imagine out of the limited # of prototypes they painted 2 different grabber lime greens? One of them may be photoshop

I know Ford has said it's easy to remove (like a dozen bolts or something) but say you're parked and it's pouring rain and you have the tray installed where does the water go that's collected in the tray? The opposite Q is if you don't have the tray installed and get caught in a rainstorm with the car parked will you drown the top of the engine with water?
