The time has come for my 03 to make the step towards a turbo. Just placed my order with CG fabrications for their T4 race kit for AC cars. I ordered it as Stainless with a 44mm gate. Cannot wait to get that!

The motor is out of the car currently after a failure prematurely ended my season early last August after a valvespring shattered and dropped a valve. The new setup is as follows;
-Teksid
-stock crank
-Molnar Power Adder Plus Rods
-Diamond Mod 2K, should be 10:1
-Todd Warren cams cut for turbo
-Wonder Racing timing components and HD chains
-FID1300s (e85 of course)

I’ve had my eye on that FI 76/92 Borg, so as of now that’s the route I’m planning to go.
The car has an AODE, so I will be needed to change converters now with the turbo. The car is going to majority a hot street/track car. What are you guys running for a converter?

As for the cold side of things, J2Fab’s turbo inlet adapter really caught my eye, as I would like to try and keep my brand new PNR ice tank in use..I like the the idea of utilizing the factory A2W system with the turbo. Anyone out there running that setup with good results?

I also have a brand new IW balancer with the integrated hub to run a lower pulley...I don’t see what the issue would be to just utilize that balancer without the lower ring on, thoughts?

I wanted to just get a thread going on here that I can gather information from some of you, and post some progress pictures and updates!

Here is how the car sits currently!

SRA? I’m still IRS but focusing on weight reduction and traction this year. Soon enough already.

I almost went with CG fab for my turbo 2018. He makes super nice stuff.

What made you go T4 vs T6? The large frame borgs spool surprisingly well.

I considered going to a T6, and honestly, I think I ordered the kit to soon as I impulsively decided to go turbo. My biggest concern was streetability. I wanted to have a setup that will be a fun cruiser, and go to the track and click off 8s.

I think I can get what I’m looking for done with a T4, considering going with either an FI 478/96 or their 480/96. Should be plenty for around 1k I would think! I would think a 46mm gate is plenty enough to keep drive psi down with a larger housing, such as a 1.10 or 1.25

Well, but the bullet and ordered my Holley EFI setup! With the power the car will be at, I would rather be safe than sorry and not have to think twice about turning it up. And with the money I would have invested in a 2-step, Boost/pulse leash, gauges, etc, it only mad sense to just get the big purchase done and go with the Holley.

I hear good things about the Holley dominator. What was the previous setup?

Actually I have the 1300s for sale, I plan to run a set of 160# Holleys. I’m really looking forward to getting the car together and messing with the Holley, I’ve heard nothing but good things!

Once I have everything I’ll post pics, as of right now I’m still in the waiting period to receive it all.

Rotating assembly is out at balance currently, waiting for my cams from Todd. Hopefully have the car running/driving by May, that way I can get some seat time!

Here is the sweet new TH400 tho...

Awesome combo and build, congrats and enjoy, should easily hit 8’s.

Great thing with the Holley is you can do boost by gear and boost by rpm, so traction will be far easier to dial in.

I didn’t see if you posted yet but what converter are you thinking?

Thanks! I’m really looking forward to putting some time into figuring the system out and getting everything dialed. That’s what made the Holley/stand-alone systems so appealing!

I’ve got a 9.5” that I am sending into PTC for a restall/cut-clean. Unsure on a stall yet.

Nice.. I can't wait to go turbo. I just don't want to pay for it or do the work;). The holley was super easy to wire in on a ls platform. Only thing was the 4 inputs/outputs on the HP. They filled up quick, wish I had went with the DOM. But the $

Well got a little carried away this afternoon after work, decided to pull the AC and complete a harness tuck on the car and clean the bay up. I think it turned out great, but really wish I had the ability/know-how to put some Scott Rod panels in!

Anyways, here’s a couple pics!
