lol, the link clearly says A PROTOTYPE went 200. There have been multiple attempts to get a stock production model to 200mph and they weren't successful. How can that be construed as negative? The 13/14 is a great car, and if I ever got back in a Mustang it'd be my top choice (followed by a 03/04). Fact remains the Ford claimed 200mph hasn't been duplicated.
Yes. Prototype. The car was still in development, hadn't been released yet. You got me there.
Rumors say the prototype used in the speed runs was actually LS powered.

Because it’s his car
Because he pays for it
Because he can do whatever he wants with it
Because it’s supposedly a fast piece of machinery
Because it’s his car

Come on, he’s right, 90% of the ‘new Model craze’ is showing off to your buddies how your shit is better than their shit. Ya know? Like when one of the guys gets a new track toy and starts talking a bunch of shit about he’s the fastest.

Same thing.
In my circle bragging rights is lap times, which is earned via skill and/or knowledge of race engineering. I dont have one friend who has bragged about their baun stohk car. You are right, it doesnt matter one bit one I or anyone thinks about another persons sense of enjoyment BUT there are two basic points to an internet forum. One is stating your opinion and arguing over it, Two is using the search feature to find people from 2007 telling other people to use the search feature :)

I see plenty of people bringing in the latest and greatest supercar, but nobody bench races them, they actually go out and lap them, hand them off to the pros to see how they stack up. And sure AF dont see anyone coming to the track and sitting there talking about how theoretically fast their car is without trying to match it. The pride is in how close you can get to the pro

Which works cuz you have a local track.

To still have the ‘built vs bought’ Mindset in 2019 is mind blowing to me. Does it REALLY matter?

Yes. You’re either a bitch or a butch. Take your pick. Ive built and Ive bought and enjoyed both. I got called a bitch for buying and it was deserved and yes i take more pride in the stuff i put my hands on

Your new model may be the cats meow until the shit box 4th gen blows your ass away or a nicely built fox shows you how it’s supposed to be done.

Yea but they are running them right? I was responding to the guy who said he wont be buying one because he cant brag about it going faster than 180mph yet has modded cars, its not a legit reason to not buy one. A more legit reason to not buy one is not liking the looks, also not buying purely based on a lame unveiling?? Come oooon it's just rediculous

hmmm... would buying a 2011 GT500 and modifiying it to 1000 RWHP be building or buying? Asking for a friend...

I honestly couldn’t care less what someone else thinks about what i spend my money on, but to think someone’s a bitch cuz they don’t have time to spend hours wrenching on something, when others literally get paid to do just that, is also a foreign concept to me.

I appreciate badassery and horsepower. I don’t care who ‘was blessed enough to tighten the bolts’ lolololol

Ahhhhh i gotcha - i misunderstood your angle.

100% correct, you are sir. I’m with you there. Like not buying a car cuz you don’t like the wheels, when you intend to change the ****ing wheels.

Your a tech and its your car. Turn your own wrenches. You dont need @Zemedici (no offense to do it for you). I had people build my shit for me and it always was in the back of my mind that i didn’t do the work.

I took pride in every bolt i turned and every spacer i placed in the between the airbox lids for my “CAI”. I grew up in a mechanic family and that is just my upbringing.

Maaaaan i got much bigger fish to fry than worry cuz i didn’t turn the wrenches on a machine I’m only going to have for 12-18 months. I got an empire to keep building.

Question - by looking at a bolt, can you tell who tightened it? Semantics.

Just my background dude. Nobody ever meant any harm to each other and we would all pitch in at a moments notice to help someone who needed help learning and wanted to. You gotta crawl before you walk and i crawled learned a little and walked. My last couple trucks were bought and i had no pride in them.

I just took more pride in my stuff that i had to bust my ass to make run better and stronger since I couldn’t afford to pay someone to do it for me.

Lol. Its knowledge dude and empires crumple. I built an empire once and it crumpled and I realized how much i could have saved by doing my own work.

Knowledge is power when everyone around you needs something. Money may make the world go round, but it wont buy everything

Ahhhhh see but because i pay someone else to do something, that has no correlation with my knowledge on said subject. Perhaps my time is better spent doing something else. Ya know?

And the empires built with the correct foundations don’t usually crumble :)

Putting in work on your ride and learning it is always well spent time. You lose what skills you have when don't use them. We make money and we lose money and all the great empires said they were built on the best foundation and guess what all that resides is rocks.

Somebody will buy one. Bust it open properly and put it to work. Shit will break repairs will be made and the process repeats itself

I do literally everything myself from welding to painting to alignments but ill be damned if I didnt wish someone else was doing it for me half the time lol my reasoning is I dont trust anyone else and the guys I would trust are unaffordable.
