What up dudes, reserve guy here, got a civilian coworker making all sorts of fantastical claims from the Desert Storm era. I know you can research dd214s and other records, but I don't know how, does anyone here have experience with this? Homeboy is saying a lot of things that don't even begin to add up.

Ask him to produce his DD214. It’ll have his rank, awards, and campaigns IF he participated in any.

I agree with @PhoenixM3. Just be sure you're prepared to walk to the end of the path if you choose to confront him on his claims.

Oh boy am I prepared, dude says he was a generator mechanic in the 101st, got hand picked by the post commander to be his personal security, went to "every SF school, but was never SF", jumped out of an Apache(what?), protected the GO in desert storm, after which the GO gifted him a personalized desert eagle that he conveniently sold in 1993 for $2500. He says his dd214 is a quarter inch thick but you can't read it because it's mostly redacted.

I get upset with guys who claim prior service when they never served. You're always going to have those who have served in the Armed Forces who exaggerate their duties.

It's silly, there's no need to bullshit your service, there's nothing wrong with being a generator mechanic and doing one contract. I just don't understand some people.

As prior service, just a tank crewman nothing special, there is so much bs in what he is bragging about. But like they say above call his bs and ask about the DD214. most prior service guys have tons of copies of them.

I asked him about his dd214 yesterday and he said it can't be read because too much of it is redacted, and not only that, but it's a quarter inch thick as well.

they dont redact a dd214, if your that top secret, your not military any more. but like i said he is just bsing because he wants to feel like superman
I spent a long time in the Submarine Service and we did a lot of cloak and dagger shit, but no specific operations were mentioned on my DD214. I suspect Mr. “I ride the short-rotored chopper” (see tattoo) is full of shit.

Don Shipley would have a good time with this guy, even though he isn't claiming to be a Navy SEAL.

LOL no question is he full of shit. anyone who has seen the inside of an apache knows there ain't room for some goon to "rappel down" out of it.even as a civilian without a day in the military I would call that clown out on his claims.
