So sad to say it but I money shifted the cobra from top of 3rd to 2nd... anyway It broke the diff cover and that's it (atleast I thought). I order Ford racing reinforced diff cover and ftbr bushings and diff mount. Installed all of it in my garage everything torqued to spec and done exactly as they say in the directions. Get the car back together and all seems well at first. I'm getting the "cobra clunk", I think worse than before, when I'm in first if I just bump the throttle and make the car jerk it's clunking in the back not when I'm shifting or driving but when it's actually jolted. Next thing is I'm hearing a gear whine in the rear end like I never did before. Louder when I'm giving it any throttle, gets quite when I coast. I know it has fluid because I over filled it and it blew out of the vent so that isn't the problem. Please any help is greatly appreciated!!

Did you check the pinion as well? I bet its loose. You tweaked the case pretty hard if you broke the cover. Did you check everything over or did you just install the new cover?

Probably norrmal. Solid mounts transmit A LOT of diff noise into the chassis. I have Max Motorsports busings and mount and have the clunk and a fair amount of gear whine.

lash adjustment is off. So no, it's not normal. Drive it till she blows, or rebuild it again. Those are your options.
