Hey folks. I’m Troy, new to the SVTPerformance site. Longtime stang lover and just recently purchased the car I’ve been drooling over for 20 years - a stock as a rock 1993 Cobra.

Happy to find this group and I’ve got tons of questions for fellow fox body enthusiasts.

Welcome and Congrats from a fellow 93 Cobra owner. What are the details and where are the pics?

Whelp, she’s a black beauty with all matching VINs, 49k original miles and two owners. Beautiful condition and given the state of the 1993 cobra feeding frenzy right now I feel like I got a great deal on her! The site/forums don’t seem to want to accept pics uploaded from my phone so I’ll hop on the ole computer in a minute to see if I can add some photos.

Mine is black as well. I love the 93 Cobra more than anything. I know yours is stock, but if you have the means, preserve the stock parts and give it some power. They are a blast with a punch.

Here we go, trimmed down the files and converted to jpeg.

I hear you on the mods, I am going to have to do some baaaad things to this car but yeah, mostly bolt-on and all reversible. My top wanted mods are probably:
- headers w/flowmaster cat backs (2.5" pipe)
- 2.5" cervini cowl hood
- blackout tint
- 5 lug conversion kit for different rims (i know some people are hardcore stock cobra rims, but I love five stars too much)
- Possibly lower the suspention 1"
- Cold air intake

I don't want to get too crazy with it but definitely want to add some kick and make it look/sound as evil as possible!

Man that is super nice. KenneBell has remade a few 2.1 twin screw superchargers for the Fox Body. I have one on mine and it’s insane. Wouldn’t take much to install and it’s period correct. Probably wouldn’t hurt the value. But your car is beautiful as is

I modified mine quite a bit, but have all the stock parts. I put the original motor in storage, just in case I want to do a factory restore. I know a little bit about these cars so if you have any questions let me know.

So tempting to make the HP right on this car. It was so badass at the time but now 235 HP isn't much.

Thanks for the compliment - what are the details of yours? pic?

Welcome to SVTP and congrats on finding your '93 Cobra. That's a good looking Cobra. I agree that '93 Cobras are SA-WEET!

Awesome.. so it sounds like you are cranking out quite a bit of HP now - did you install welded subframe connectors? I keep reading that the frames like to twist on the 93 cobras even at stock HP's, so when you really start juicing them up it could cause some serious issues

I put a 347 stroker with a Kenne Bell twin screw and meth injection. I’ve pretty much built the car myself and have replaced most everything. But it’s still stock appearing. It’s in my garage right now getting some work done. I added long tube headers, new clutch, shifter and aluminum driveshaft this go around. But nothing done cannot be reversed. It’s just so much fun at 500 hp.

Man that’s awesome, the engine is awesome and you have the setup. I used to wrench on my cars out of necessity when I was a teenager, largest project I ever did was swap a rear end on my 85 LX.

I cant Even imagine what 500 hp feels like in one of these

It’s a total sleeper!

It’s crazy, although I honestly don’t drive it hard. I like kicking it sideways in second gear and giggling, that’s about it. The car never sees anything above 80mph. I wrench on it as a hobby, although I’m no mechanic. I kinda fumble my way through, but It turns out good and the satisfaction justifies the effort. These cars are more than just a vehicle to me.
