Been out of the country since essentially January.
I will be stateside shortly and am getting a new phone.

Debating between the Pixel 3XL and the S10 plus.

Any one with direct interaction with both phones that can provide a thought on the difference?

Anyone with either phone that has complaints?

I've been a samsung guy for years, owning the 5, note 5, S6, S8 plus, so i am pretty used to the interface and qwerks.

My S8 is broken, and I am not going to pay to fix it at this point. the charging port is failing and the back glass is broken. It was a flawless phone though

I'm an iPhone guy, too, but if I was up for a new one I'd be seriously considering an S10. iPhone prices are just getting ridiculous. And I have occasional annoying sound glitches.

The prices are Bob. That’s why I’ve kept my 6S Plus. That said I hate since the last few updates my battery life has been shit.

I was a Samsung guy since I got my first smartphone. Switched to LG about 4 years ago and could not be happier.

I have an iPhone for work and I hate it. If it sits in the sun for 5 minutes it overheats and shuts down. In the winter it gets cold and the battery life is shit.

I got the s10+, great phone. Only complaints would be a couple Samsung apps you are locked into and it would be even better without the dumb curved screen edges.

All the top line phones are $1k+ now. Everyone was complaining about the $1k iX but Samsung top phone at the time was $979.

I can’t stand Samsung....

Of android I’d recommend the new LG G8 and pixel.
Samsung sucks imo. My only Samsung phone S5 I had did not work and they refused to fix it. Note 7 recall now their fold phone.

You may want to look at Nokia too. Top line hardware for less.

I’ve been very happy with iPhone since I switched to them with the iPhone 6. It works every time not glitchy and best call clarity that I’ve ever heard from cell phones.

I hate the Bixby button. I don't mind the curved glass, but I always hit the stupid Bixby button.

This might help ya out. I had a similar situation recently. I haven’t bought it yet, but it’s getting solid reviews. It’s called the OnePlus 7 Pro.

Big upside of this phone is the cost. Much more reasonably priced than the competition. I’ve been a long time “no shits given” about which brand of phone I own. They’re all great for watching porn. And occasionally answering actual phone calls from my wife. ;)

Anyway, I’ve got back and forth between iPhones and Androids. The only phone I really had any problems with (didn’t personally) was that Note whatever that was banned from planes and shit because it kept catching on fire. Anyway here’s the link where you can find some more discussion about it.

See if there's an Ibreakufix around you or any qualified repair shop. I have a iphone 6 still rockin, I had some battery issues myself and they replace it for $50 including labor and did it within 15 min

The biggest complaint I have with my 10+ is the on-screen fingerprint scanner. The rear scanner in my 9+ was way more accurate and required fewer rescans to unlock.

Other than that, I love the 10+.

I have a LG G7 ThinQ and came from an iPhone. Will never go back to an iPhone. The bigger battery in my android, the fact it syncs with all my google calendar information and e-mail make an immense value, to me at least. I got it from B&H unlocked right after it came out for $650. A steal imo considering the new iPhones are close to $900-1,000.

I try out the newest/latest/greatest Android (usually a Samsung) every six to eight months when I'm upgrading phones. It never fails that just before the return period I'm at the store getting the newest iPhone.

I will say that I feel like the Samsung S9, IIRC, had a superior camera/picture quality, but otherwise I like my XS Max more.

I honestly feel like the Google Pixel phones are a blend of the Android base but Iphone type user friendly.

I've owned both the Pixel 1 and Pixel 2, they are fantastic phones and I never have any issues with the operation of the system itself. However, they do have charging port issues. Just about every year I have to have the phone warrantied. Plus Google's warranty can be a pain, but at least they had a 24 month manufacturers warranty.

Thanks for the tip Jay. I’ll have to look into that.
