Was this the hot ticket back in 2008? I don't remember hearing about a NASCAR package? Posted in my latest Autabuy mag.

It was just called a nascar 427 package that Shelby American did for the early super snakes. It had different badges and some other little touches, but it was still a stock 5.4 with a KB. kinda like the signature edition they recently did.

I'm pretty sure this NASCAR 427 package was available for the entry level 605HP (not KB) Super Snakes also. The President of Shelby American, Amy B. (I forgot her complete last name) had a Grabber Orange company car NASCAR 427 Super Snake, it was featured in a couple of magazines from that time and 605HP.

Here is Amy B's 605 with the light bar as a secondary Pace Car..........Her 605 was auctioned off a couple of years ago, it sold for $125K.....

Here is the Primary Pace Car at that race. This Silver Pace Car was a 725.........

I think, but am not positive, that a glimps of the drivers side rear brake duct is viewable just ahead of the rear tire.....

There was a White 725 also, but I never saw it on the television.....

Since I was a 2008 Super Snake owner, I received an email from Shelby offering me this NASCAR 427 package for my car, I think it was $600 or so? The only "functional" items were the Shelby/MM Caster Camber plates, everything else was emblems and floor mats and maybe a pair of headrest covers, either way, I could never get beyond that gaudawful looking fender flag/emblem.......

I knew I would never ever, ever never, put those emblems on my Super Snake, so I decided to buy the Shelby logo'ed MM Caster Camber plates from Shelby Performance Parts and call it a day.

I was also contacted about "special" pricing to fly to Las Vegas and watch the race, the package was reasonable, but I figured my wife would not go for it. When we were watching the race on TV (the pictures I added in my previous post), I mention the "special pricing package" to my wife...........She said, "WHY DIDN"T YOU TELL ME?!?!?" I told her, I figured you wouldn't be interested......

I still don't like the look of those fender emblems!!

The was Amy B.'s Grabber Orange Super Snake company car when she was President of Shelby American, it was used for magazine tests and then was also "NASCAR 427'ed" for the Las Vegas race.

Evan at Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords got a 725 to test, those were all different test results from the entry level 605.

You guys think the 135g's is reasonable? Seems steep to me even with the mileage.

If it is not Amy Boylan's documented Shelby American company/employee assigned 605 Super Snake, the one that got much magazine coverage and other media event publicity, I don't see it being an over the top price like $135K.

Now if the NASCAR 427's were........let's say 775 and 800HP back then, when the entry level was 605 with an option of 725? then I could see a decent bump for the "extra performance" and limited number built, but that was not the case, those cars were a package added to an entry level 605HP Super Snake or a 725 optioned car, stickers, emblems, floor mats, headrest covers and the CC plates, that was it. So how much value is added to a Super Snake of "like power option"?

You would also have to have a buyer who likes all of that stuff stuck on their car?

My friend has an orange Nascar super snake, and I was at Shelby America getting a personal tour by the guy that ran it, in person the badges aren't horrible, and it gives it a little bit of exclusivity, I also saw the Prudhomme prototype that weekend

That car was there when I visited. Impressive is an understatement. Hell, all the GT500's that kept my dream going were there.

But the most valuable one there was 1967 GT500 Super Snake. 1 of 1. The holiest grail of all Mustangs!
