Born and raised Brockton. Living in Naples.
You are dreaming if you think a base c8 will do 10.3. LOL
Retarded post is retarded. of course a 2 seater sports car is going to be lighter than a 2+2 GT car.

These trolls thinking Ford made a mistake releasing the GT500 too late. These cars arent even in the same category. Price may be comparable, but comparing the GT500 to a corvette is a compliment to the GT500.

it wont do 10s with 500HP. It needs another 100, at least. It weighs as much as the GT and GT has 650hp and it only gets what, 10.5 quarters?
yeah, I'd say to break 10s it needs another 100 HP. Z06 version will kill it!!
Logic is what's missing with these Ford needs to wake up trolls.

Also, this car probably will MSRP for 60k, but after options and since it's a new vette you bet your ass it's going to be 70, 80k. My brothers friend paid 76k for his stingray. He got his from a dealer connection back in late 2014.

I always thought if GM hits it outta the park with this one, the c7 will be obsolete. Damn, I'd love a zr1!!! Been watching zr1 vids on YT.

absolutely beautiful car, and it's insane you get supercar level performance and styling for only $58k.

Kinda disappointed they just didnt make it a nice round 500hp. Its like doing all the work to climb everest, getting the last 100ft from the summit and just saying "eh, close enough."

Cant wait for the C8 Z06, its going to be a world beater

I can cope bruh! I'm not brand loyal, I own two american vehicles, a german bike, and a japanese daily driver.

I think the c8 looks okay, gonna have to see it in other colors, the convertible looks sweet. im excited to see what the c8z brings. Maybe scoop up a c7 zr1 for cheap by the time the c8z comes out.

I read the upcoming variants will introduce hybrid power. I'm not seeing much room yet for a big blower or twin nagasaki noisy boys.

Doesn't look friendly to work on.

Still be a fool to drop the kind of money they want for a Mustang with this thing sitting around the corner.

As well, the base model actually looks good! Most of the time the base model is lack luster, this looks good in even base trim.

100% accurate. All the Demon hate will be towards the C8.
Oh the hate is real already, people saying it’s a dated Ferrari, bitching about the low power etc. meanwhile these same people can’t even afford the base model likely so it’s laughable at best.

Wait so are you actually buying one OP? Or just letting the shiny new Government Motors hot wheels car cuck you?

The 2020 GT500 will absolutely run circles around the base C8 on a track. You're dilusional to even be making the comparison. The real performance comparison would be the Z06 C8... But that won't fit your narrative, because it will in fact cost more than the GT500. The GT500 is a touring car that will compete with Vetts, Porsches, etc.

Finally, this new base C8 would be lucky to outrun a C6 Z06. You're way overestimating it's trap speed capabilities because DueL cLuTCh Br0. The 13/14 GT500 has the C6Z covered power:weight. The 2020 GT500 is punching a class above it's weight. That's not a cheap thing to accomplish, however at the end of the day it will be somewhere in between the C8 base and C8 Z performance wise. Oh, and between them price wise as well, funny how that works isn't it?

They could have easily sold this as a totally new car for a 1/4 more of the price and still made out well. Well done Chevy. Hard to wrap my head around this being the same price as a gt350.

unreal, 3360 lbs dry. Cant wait for the Z06 version. will be fast as hell.
Thank you Chevy for bringing a mid engine USA built super car for the masses.
Ford brings us 4100 lb (or whatever it is ... we're still waiting on it) 760HP tire spinner and condones dealer ADM to boot.
Great job!

x100 !

What an amazing machine this new Corvette!

Going to be hard as hell for me to pass this one up. Wow.

Poor man's Ferrari! I love it!

I'm kinda digging the C8. I share the same option as most in here. The front and sides look aggressive yet elegant. The rear could look better, but not horrible or a deal breaker. The cockpit is so-so; I wonder how it'll hold up over time. Performance for the cost is a game-changer. Just like that, the C7 market is going to tank lol

A C7 Z06 is starting to climb up the list to be my next car...and the GT500 is falling.

The potential Z06 engine has already been leaked and it's a twin turbo setup: Twin-Turbo V8 LT7 Engine For C8 Corvette Z06 Leaked
