Heyyyy SVT!

I think the fuel pump on my 07 is on it's way out. What do people use for a replacement? Other than the factory replacement only option I saw much on was the Deatschwerks 340lph which does look like a good option. I am also thinking about doing both so cost does play a factor seeing its a damn fuel pump.

Thanks!

Are you sure the pumps are going out? Remember there are 2 fuel pumps on the gt500s. Also i the stock pumps are not known for failing.

How many miles on the car? What is the cR doing that makes you think fuel pumps? When was the last time you changed fuel filter?

Car is at 35k. It has issues starting until you cycle the key 5-10x. The fuel pressure is super low and car runs rough until it fully warms up and pressure is back to normal. Let the car sit a couple days and be lucky it starts and pressure is around 10 psi.

Replaced the filter already and I have the pumps out. Today I’m going to try to switch the pumps and modules around to see if the issue follows. My friend and I think it’s gunna be 1 of the 2 pumps.

Just my thought so far but by no means am I a mechanic lol

I would think it is unlikely that both pumps would go bad at the same time. Since you already replaced the filter have you checked the FRPS? Unlikely the filter socks are plugged, since that would not change with being warmed up. FRPS monitors pressure drop across injectors/rail temp, and feeds that into PCM, then PCM controls pumps. BTW the FRPS is the sensor on the passenger fuel rail. Good luck.

By the way, check the FPRS by unplugging the vacuum line and sniffing for gas being in the line or sensor.

Well after testing a bit more both pumps and modules are ok. Next suspect is what is mentioned above with the frps. We are thinking this HAS to be it but who knows for sure in the repair game.

I replaced the sending unit and fixed right up. The pumps were ok and were tested but either the check valve or another component on the unit musta went to hell. Rock auto was $300 less than the dealer on that part

The sending unit as in the regulator on the fuel rail or inside the tank ?

Sweetlou - did that RockAuto unit come with everything other than the pumps? The sending unit, etc? If so that's a hell of a deal on RockAuto.

All of it included. Direct swap and maybe took 2-3 slow starts to clear what was left in the lines and about a month later no issues starting, running choppy or pressure issues. It fixed my pressure issue.
