It would be interesting to compare the load forces of a ~4200 lbs car at like 1.2Gs vs a like 2000 lbs car at 1.5+ or something. I'm pulling those numbers out of my ass, but you get the idea.

I get the idea. However, F1 cars routinely pull well over 4gs of lateral acceleration. They pull 5gs in braking and 2gs in forward acceleration. That's a lot for a suspension to deal with. A GT500 will never see those kinds of forces, unless it's crashing into something.

...im still laughing at all the baun stock street cars that have to wave my poor 120hp ass by.

To be fair, you do live in hippie/grunge/coffee-bar-lover territory. Not exactly a hotbed for performance drivers. The people there who buy performance cars probably bought them more for show than go.

F1 cars also get inspected and rebuilt after every race. Microcracks are going to be instantly fixed.

On a street car, those will not be fixed and owners are going to get pissed when they emerge once the car is out of warranty and they now have to pay $5k for a cross member.

That's some BMW M5/M3 Rod Bearing mentality there.

Like I said, the GT500 is never going to see anywhere near the forces an F1 car generates unless it's crashing. So wear and tear of a carbon composite k-member wouldn't be an issue, especially considering very few of them will ever actually go around a race track.

LOL this is what happens when I push work aside, and act like the pretenders and trolls in here that have 0 life and all the time in the world to post. I am cursed

Lol.

You’re so triggered.

Don’t worry the car is cool as ****. Just it’s also fat as ****.

Sent from my POFS iPhone in a rage cause this is the third try.

I don't belive that without test data.

I'd say a normal street car sees more abuse then a F1 Parade car. Rough roads, gravel, pot holes, up and down the driveway, highway joints, bridge transitions. Ice, snow, salt, rain, mud.

Start, stop, start, stop. Look how many cars have engine mount issues.

This isn't a $3m race car, it's a "race inspired" street car.

Maybe Ford will release a "GT3" or "RS" varient Ala Porsche... Cuttend, paper thin carpet, CG roof panel, no radio, FC buckets, titanium exhaust, CF K-member, etc. Titanium Diff cover, magnesium parts...

Charger $250k a pop to existing owners with a strong "positive brand presence" for a limited 500 car run.
Ok carbon K member and CC rotors...now you still have a 4100# barge and you added $10k plus to the MSRP

Enough, this is way out of control. Only on page 13, and I can add a few of y’all to my kill list in the last few if y’all want. Now, back to page 13.
