*UPDATE*

So the Jet-Hot coated Kooks LT headers & X-pipe are installed now and I picked up my freshly powder coated OEM Spyders on Friday last week and they look great. The car is currently up on jack stands while I replace the brakes & rotors. Still have a Halltech MF103 CAI to install and then she's ready to head North to Katech for the final upgrades. Slow progress, but progress is being made.

It's coming along nicely, U.M. Man, you were walking in shallow water and jumped head first into deep waters. LOL. Can't wait to see the finished project.

Just curious but why are you doing the fast intake instead of the MSD atomic? The MSD all around is a much better intake from Hp and torque perspectives.

Katech claims the FAST makes a bit better TQ on the low end of the scale when coupled with the stock TB compared to the MSD. It's a couple of bucks cheaper too.

Thanks for all the kind words gents. Can't wait to drop her off at Katech for heart surgery.

There are tons of options with these LS7’s. When I got mine it had ported LME heads, Katech Torquer 116 Cam, ARH headers and catted x-pipe, and a halltech cold air intake. The car was flat out nasty and this was coming from a full bolt on whipple 03 cobra. Since this setup I have gone to a BTR 3 cam and a tony mamo ported MSD and throttle body. The car now is an absolute beast once it hits about 3800 rpms.

I am sure whatever you do it’s going to be a blast. What cam have you decided to go with? The 116 had awesome drive ability when compared to the BTR 3 cam I have now. A lot of people seem to like the torquer 110 cam from Katech.

Torquer 116 is what I'm going with. I do a lot of long distance cruising in this car so I want it to behave as close to stock as possible.

It’s a good cam. I do miss the better driving experience with that cam vs what i have now. The power with that cam is more in the lower range and falls off up top vs the BTR 3. The cam I have now comes on hard and honestly feels like a turbo car.

You are making a good choice on that cam for what you plan to use the car for. I may go back one day to the smaller cam as I still have mine.

Katech does amazing work. They are local to me. Had a few friends with C5’s and C6’s over the years get head and cam packages there. Nothing but good things man.

How was the header install? Did you install them or take it somewhere?

I was born & raised in Lansing and still have family & friends scattered across the state.

I had someone else do the headers & X-pipe for me and I'm glad I did. That made it really easy for me! LOL! The shop that did my headers turned me on to the outfit which powder coated my rims and did such a great job on them so it was a blessing in disguise. Get this... this wheel shop removed & discarded my worn out GY F1's, they removed the TPMS sensors and the wheel weights too. Then they media blasted the rims down to bare and powder coated them. Then they painted the center caps to match. Then they installed new TPMS sensors and new tires (which I provided) and balanced them. All that for.... $150 per wheel. Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists in Pehlam AL if anyone is interested... They have a sick shop and can powder coat damn near anything. Their oven is big enough to drive a car into...

Thanks for the info. I was curious how hard the header install is on a Z06.

Damn that’s a good price. 150$ per wheel is more then reasonable for that

Damn... I purchased a set of black lug nuts the other day and woke up this morning with the taste of rice in my mouth so I ordered a MGW flat stick shifter to cancel out the nasty after taste of lug nuts. I feel a little bit better now... ;)
