I find it stormy and rhetorical. Redolent of there early works, with a whole new edge. A welcome addition to a world where anthropocentric global warming let us all down, but, yet, still a world in which linear algebra shines the light on a path forward, in spite of living eight and a half minutes away from a variable star twice as large as the average star.

Hold that thought. I'm going to burn one down and then read this again :p

The most Tool response possible. Would like 10,000 if possible. :D

You're not joking. At least two i listened to went on for longer than 10 minutes? And they love the instrumentals on this one for sure.

Its an ok album. Im still partial to songs like Prison Sex, Bottom, The Pot and Hooker with a Penis. Most of the new stuff doesnt hold a candle to the older stuff. Good but not mind blowing.
The more I listen to it the more I like it.
It’s ok but not great. They had set the bar for themselves impossibly high.

I feel the same way about slipknot’s new album. At this point there is nothing they can do that will ever be what there older stuff was to an 18 year old me. Too many feels lol

As mentioned the new killswitch engage is really good and the upcoming new As I lay dying is going to blow away everyone’s new shit
Slipknots new album is good. Took a few listens to warm up to it. But that is generally how it is for almost new music from old bands for me.

The fact an older band like Slipknot, who gained fame and notoriety for their youthful and aggressive attack on their music, can still make heavy music is pretty f'ing amazing. The next album Im checking out.

Tool is a huge favorite for me but I've not yet been able to get behind the new album yet...

I need to listen to it a few more times.

(Not a huge Tool fan but enjoy most of their music)

It's good.

Enjoy 7empest the most so far.

Slipknot's album is good too. Different sounding at times, but I like that they are trying new things. Spiders is actually a top 3 song from the new album.

I was expecting more "memorable" aspects of it like their previous albums.

Sort of feels like the Lord of the Rings movies vs The Hobbit movies. They were all good, but nobody remembers a damn thing from the Hobbit movies.

Essentially the show in San Antonio sold out in 20 minutes. Tickets went on sale at 10am, didn’t know you could get “in line” prior. So we didn’t get tickets. ****ers

I got in queue at 9:58 my time. By the time the sale launched, there were 2 THOUSAND people already in line head of me for my specific show. Thankfully I got seats in the zone I wanted.

Doesnt surprise me at all that they sold out fast. This is the first official Album supporting tour in 13 years.

because they were too ****ing long...I like the new Tool album, but cannot for the life of me sit thru and listen to every track for 10 mins, they have always been a little long winded, but this is crazy.

As I said in this thread the song length annoyed me. However, I have been driving a bunch the last couple days for 15+ each and generally get in a song or three. The length of each song has grown on me, feel like it's almost necessary. They did in 10,000 Days break up a long ass song (Wings), but that song would have been 17ish minutes long...lol

My wife got in que around 9:50 and still no dice. It showed the 2,000+ people in front of you shit. The real kicker is the "Official Platinum" sounds like a package, but it is just a way for Ticketmaster to jack up prices. A balcony seat in a shitty location got jacked up to $360, that ticket was probably only $50 at the beginning of the sale. **** Ticketmaster.
